Episode 2 Part 1 of Memelandia. It’s uh, they’re in a discord server, and uh, and it gets stolen? It makes more sense as you read. You can find it on tapas it’s about uh.. memes, and the internet, and politics. I think it’s pretty cool personally. But y'know up to you of course no pressure.
Here’s Tea with another discord hacker warning because I’ve heard of two people getting hit with this one in the last 24 hours.
Here’s an example of it that I dodged last year, which follows the same script:
Usually it starts with “hey, how are you, can I ask you a question…” and through some way or another will ask you to click a link (which may look trustworthy like an “official website”, YouTube, itch.io, Steam etc) or download a file, perhaps a game or a project they’ve made, or a gift for a friend. That link or file will lose you your account.
So, please be on the lookout for this and be 100% sure it is your friend behind the screen. They can be any user, including ones you’ve not spoken to in years. You might find that they don’t greet you the usual way or may try to brush past any attempts you make to make real conversation.
However, the people(/bots?) behind the hacked accounts are potentially using quickly-scavenged info from DM’s to answer your usual safety questions (we noticed this in one case today) so you’re best off asking questions that are harder to find answers for, such as “what’s my accent like?” if you’ve been in voice calls or anti-answers like “how’s your new puppy?” for someone who doesn’t have a dog. The scammer (or AI) may play along. You can also just say “sorry, can’t help you” - they will likely disengage if you don’t play along with the ploy, while a real user will likely continue to chat after you say no.
(I did the last one in the above example, and the user messaged some time after to tell me they’d been hacked.)
If you find the account is dodgy, do not click links or downloads and do what you can to limit that account’s ability to wreak havoc (if you’re a mod, remove them from your servers until they’re restored) on your network of friends. Alert the account owner however you can. Save + delete any sensitive info or images from your DM’s too (ie if you shared any addresses, gift codes, phone numbers) until the account is secured.
If your account has been compromised, you’ll need to get in touch with Discord yourself to try and regain it. You’ll have to submit a ticket. Run antivirus software to be safe. Try and get in touch with friends via other means to alert them. If Discord has your bank details (like nitro), be on the lookout for unauthorised purchases. Change your passwords, especially to crucial websites. Good luck, and I’m sorry this happened to you.
Please don’t think “I’m too smart to fall for this”: hacker methods like this rely on that sense of security. Unlike the last hacker warning I made, this one doesn’t try to panic you. It’s a lot more subtle social engineering, and counts on you being a good friend. Stay safe!

Being accessible means not cutting those people off from using things to aid their accessibility. I don’t bar anyone from my emotes, because I fully understand that no matter what opinions another person has, they are a living person trying to get through life just like I am.
It’s completely up to the person if they want to interact with me or not, I don’t stop them, THAT is why my blog is accessible for everyone. I fear you don’t understand what the term “accessible” means. Because it is not based on opinion.
A guy on discord messed up with me JUST BECAUSE he asked me to be in a relationship with him and i said no. Does he know about consent ? He became very mean and started insulting me. First on Discord (insult such as f*ck your mom) and then I blocked him, he came to tell me the exact same thing in worse on Instagram (insulte such as b*tch) When we started arguing at first I was sad. But at the moment he started insulting me, i was like, excuse me ? I put that child straight honestly. I didn’t insult back, just telling what he deserves to hear. This is so weak from him to do that. And how non educated is he. He is so weak that he deleted all his insults. But he doesn’t know I have screenshots. I went to tell this to the server owner (on discord), and the owner just let it go and didn’t punish the guy. Just because they are friends. I sent him a lot of screenshots, and I didn’t lie on any thing, whereas the other one lied about everything and had no proof. But the owner believed his friend. How shameful. An owner should protect the members. Not favorizing his friend when he is wrong. What a shame. For now, I dont wanna communicate with them. Maybe I’ll leave the server. I don’t care about them anymore, I have a lot of amazing persons with me. They think they are stylish to insult me like that ? But they don’t know karma will take good care of them.

y cuando pongo mi numero lo reconoce pero nunca me llega el codigo de confirmación
por un lado bien porque se que ese lugar se estaba quemando
por otro, me estaba quedando en esos 3 servers por un motivo
y entre ellos estaba el de argblr….
…. asi que supongo que me voy a tener que hacer otra cuenta de discordia

me sitting in the discord vc then i stop talking then i stop thinking then i zone back in and have to listen for a bit to try to figure out what theyre talking about now and it feels like eavesdropping even though ive been in the call

Thinking about the idea of a God I Hate Shakespeare parody about Discord: “God I Hate Discord”
Probably Element is Nigel and all the other Discord alternatives are the ensemble, I guess Nick is just the frustrated alternative-enthusiast surrogate.
I’ve also never seen the musical so perhaps I’ll do that sometime and revisit this idea then.
