Not systems — what you can do: A Different Lens

I like to keep things simple, grounded, and honest, especially when it comes to systems —
and failure systems learning more broadly.

Artificial intelligence is not just a buzzword; it is a quiet infrastructure layer that is
already rewiring how we make decisions, create, and even feel seen. The real story is not
the headlines; it is the slow shift in everyday systems.

Today I am not trying to cover everything. I am just offering one angle: how to learn
without collapsing into blame or helplessness.

Take what resonates, leave the rest, but give yourself a quiet moment to sit with it. Real
change often starts in those small, unseen pauses where you finally tell yourself the truth.

Yesterday, I told my wife I feel like a failure

I obsess over my health, watching what I eat, exercising, but I continue to be overweight.

I obsessing about saving money, never wanting to spend money on anything fun, yet it never seems like we have any money.

I feel like I can never get ahead on keeping up with things around the house, but I’m not out having fun, I’m always working.

I work so hard, give so much of my mental and creative energy to my job, but don’t seem to be advancing as far as I should at this point in my life.

But then I go for a run, and I realize I don’t *feel* this way, these are my thoughts. When I run, I tap into my actual feelings, what it’s like deep inside myself, and I don’t feel like a failure. It’s just my thoughts.

LOSE SLEEP….

one time at a track meet in high school, there were a bunch of pretty girls from a rival school who set up a tent on the inside of the track. At one point I stuck my head into the tent and declared:

“this must be the hot girls’ tent.”

oh god.

those poor girls.

damn near 20 years later, I still lose sleep over that one, every two weeks or so.

STYLE MANTRA — FAILURE

🔁

  • Failure is feedback in disguise.
  • Every failure carries a lesson.
  • Failure strengthens resilience.
  • Growth often begins after failure.
  • Failure refines strategy.
  • Mistakes guide improvement.
  • Fear of failure blocks progress.
  • Learning from failure builds wisdom.
  • Persistence transforms failure into success.
  • Failure is a step, not the destination.

🧠 The Hidden Value of Failure

Most people fear failure.

They see it as proof of weakness or inability.

But in reality, failure is an essential part of growth.

Every meaningful achievement involves mistakes, setbacks, and corrections.

Failure reveals what does not work.

This information is valuable.

Without failure, improvement becomes difficult.

Innovation, creativity, and progress all require experimentation.

And experimentation naturally includes failure.

The difference between those who succeed and those who give up is not intelligence or talent.

It is perspective.

Some people see failure as an end.

Others see it as guidance.

Those who learn from failure eventually refine their approach.

Over time, experience transforms early mistakes into valuable wisdom.

Failure does not stop progress.

Ignoring its lessons does.

📖 The Inventor’s Notebook

An inventor spent years trying to design a new machine.

Many prototypes failed.

Friends began to question his persistence.

One day someone asked him,

“Don’t you feel discouraged after so many failures?”

The inventor replied,

“I have not failed.

I have discovered many ways that do not work.”

Eventually, one design succeeded.

And that success was built on every previous failure.

🎯

Failure becomes valuable when it teaches improvement.

Failure may slow the journey.

But it also shapes the traveler.

Those who learn from it eventually move forward stronger and wiser.

🎭

Model: Why do people fear failure so much?

Style: Because they mistake it for defeat.

Model: Can failure actually help success?

Style: Yes. It shows what needs improvement.

Model: What is the biggest mistake after failure?

Style: Not learning from it.

Model: Do successful people avoid failure?

Style: No. They learn from it faster.

Model: Final definition?

Style: Failure is feedback that guides future success.

I couldn’t find anything in this dream.
I couldn’t even brew a cup of coffee.

It was difficult to wake up, in the dark,
without first resolving these frustrations.

LIKE WATER….

I think of Young Manny Furious, aged 14, sitting in the kitchen, blind as a bat, but still refusing to wearing glasses, constantly squinting, hair shooting out like four inch flames from the bonfire that was his mind, reading a book about Bruce Lee’s philosophy.

“Be like water,” Young Manny wonders aloud. “What the hell does that mean? Be wet?

Roland Furious kind of just sighs and shakes his head, I’m sure wondering, himself, whence had come this simple, sort of oblivious lad that was supposedly his progeny.

“Water can flow, or it can crash,” Young Manny reads aloud, puzzled. “How can a human being flow or crash? We’re not fluid.”

Roland Furious visibly winces.

“Oh, does he mean, crash like a car? But that’s a bad thing,” Young Manny continues to ponder.

“Jesus Christ,” Roland Furious relents and crashes. “It’s a metaphor. Go with the flow when you need to. Put a stop to things, or even destroy them when you need to. You know, be a gentle person as long as you can, but should the need arise to punch someone in the throat, you punch them in the throat. Without hesitation.”

“Oh,” Young Manny has had an epiphany. “It’s like when you drink too much Mountain Dew. First you flow with all that energy, then you crash and fall asleep, right?”

Roland Furious returns to the flow by closing his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and middle finger, and sighing some more.

It’s at this point that young Manny Furious decides he may need to seek out some kind of spiritual or philosophical mentor….

It’s really hilarious being a Failure fan and trying to find content for them (there’s not much), then randomly finding a bunch of non-fans reblogging their stuff cause David Dastmalchian is in the video for Dark Speed.

I got invited to a paintball event! Hooray! The first time invited to anything by anyone in my life… and my mom says no because they haven’t met the person and I “haven’t done life” with this person or his family who will be there. How do I spend life with a person WHEN I CANT EVEN GET OUTSIDE THE GOD DAMN HOUSE TO HANGOUT WITH THEM? I’m gonna live my teen years never hanging out with a single kid my age arent i? I will never have friends.

resilience From the slowly Other Side

I care about emotional intelligence more than performative confidence, especially when it
comes to resilience — and mindset failure more broadly.

Artificial intelligence is not just a buzzword; it is a quiet infrastructure layer that is
already rewiring how we make decisions, create, and even feel seen. The real story is not
the headlines; it is the slow shift in everyday systems.

Today I am not trying to cover everything. I am just offering one angle: differentiate
between personal mistakes and rigged systems.

Take what resonates, leave the rest, but give yourself a quiet moment to sit with it. Real
change often starts in those small, unseen pauses where you finally tell yourself the truth.

I’m having a day.

Tired of feeling lost
Tired of letting go
Tear the whole world down
Tear the whole world down
Tired of wasted breath
Tired of nothing left
