How fast I think EOW Zelda could solve the plot of other LOZ games
- OOT: Ganondorf is fucked. She does not need to pull the Master Sword to kick his ass. Bind + water block = get drowned idiot. Takes like 3 minutes start to finish.
- ALTTP: She’d still need the moon pearl + access to the pyramid, so the basic plot doesn’t change. That said both Agahnim and Ganon are getting drowned. It speeds up their fights significantly, at least.
- ALBW: The plot never properly gets started because, you guessed it, Yuga gets drowned on sight. RIP Lorule we never knew thee.
- Majora’s Mask: she could beat Skull Kid’s ass in cycle 1 as a human, but that doesn’t rlly solve the moon problem. So I guess the real questions are: can she make echoes of the giants, and if not, how strong do we think bind is. Can she bind the moon or..?
- SKSW: Casts bind on Zelda in the Earth Temple, preventing her from leaving through Impa’s portal. This doesn’t shorten the plot, exactly, but it certainly cuts down on the bullshit. Gets an echo of Ghirahim after beating him the first time. This ALSO doesn’t shorten the plot, but it DOES irritate him greatly.
- Minish Cap: Honestly I think this goes more or less exactly like the any% speedrun except she doesn’t have to get the blue sword to beat Palace of Winds. Or the flippers to get into Temple of Droplets. Yeah she’s getting world record for sure.

uhhhhhhh, i forgot what the ☕️ prompt is about so I’m gonna talk about every significant manga I’ve read and then about trying to draw it.
My first manga was the Dragon Ball Z manga because I thought it was awesome and also I was like 11. I do not think I properly appreciated it.
My favourite manga I’ve read is one piece. I think it has the most aura impact panels ever and Luffy is lowkirkuinely awesome. But that’s mostly because of that one tumblr post which was like “Luffy is a selfish character, its just that since he doesn’t like injustice and suffering – he fights to fix it”.
One piece has gotten so much better on the second read, after hearing from alpharad that I should think about it more as a comedy and less for the fights. I also did not expect how much people ship zoro and sanji…
Another manga I read weekly for awhile was kindergarten wars – again because of hype and beautiful impact shots but also I think the heroine is cute. And then they killed a character I didn’t expect them to kill and then I was saddddd and then forgot about it for awhile.

Also, that was the first time i’ve ever read a romance manga and my first exposure to things that (at the time), wow maybe I can like things that are seen as girly (like yknow how as a kid romance was not seen as a guy thing) ((maybe it was just me idk)). ANYWAY, good manga :thumbs_up:
Now im gonna talk about drawing.
Ignoring the content of what I would draw, actually trying to draw has showed so much i’ve never even noticed. Mostly, drawing panel shapes that aren’t boring. Since I mainly want to draw fighting, if I just keep drawing squares, then even good choreography will be dulled significantly.
So I wanna use panel shapes and angles to increase the impact and effect of certain actions. Also panel shape and position is kinda the only way you can control the pace of a fight.
the other thing I think is pretty well hidden is sound effects. The PSHHHHH, BAM, ドドドドドド. how you draw it and where you decide to place it is something you don’t really consider with just like – drawing normally, or even just drawing an action shot in a vacuum. I’d like to think of panels with sound effect position already in mind one day…
Last thing, but more obvious, is angles. For an impact frame theres like, the action (which you want to highlight) but also I want to show the effect on the other person – and I have to position every other object in the scene so that all the attention is towards where I want. And I can’t just follow my heart because then the perspective and proportions don’t make sense !!!! so i like, have to use my head??????? crazy stuff

Finished Echos of Wisdom yesterday, put in 35 hours and some change in the eights days I was playing, not a bare bones run through, not 100%. Had fun, solid Zelda game. To all the people who would complain there’s tons of echos you can register but it gets boring because you only need to use the same ten or so over and over, I say one thing

[[MORE]]I was so excited when I got my pairing for this event. I almost didn’t even put this fic on my wishlist because I assumed there would be too much competition for it, and then I got matched anyway! I was blown away by my good fortune.
Working with not-freyja was, as expected, a delight. We both approached the project with a combination of Serious Professionalism and We Are Going To Have So Much Fun attitude. Going back and forth with them about, not just artistic choices, but the emotions and themes we wanted to convey, was such a joy. I loved being their partner for this event.
Speaking of the event. I’m so glad I got to participate! I have a lot of thoughts about the value of these kinds of events in fandom and also it was just a lot of fun. But this is not the place for additional essays, so remind me later if you want to hear me blab.
The art. I wanted to emphasize the theme of “control” in this painting—both Rift’s control/lack of control AND Echo’s. In this moment, Rift has lost complete control of the situation. At the same time, Echo is literally being pulled apart, breaking free of his environment (which is also himself) while simultaneously being dragged back. He moves in two directions at once, which Rift can only be still.
I also wanted a little bit of surreal geometry in this image. I looked at many examples of Art Nouveau, especially of course Alphonse Mucha’s advertisements, and tried to bring some of that styling into the border. It was my first time trying that style so next time I think I’ll try to push those ideas farther.
Layering: most of the flat colors are done with alcohol markers—the goop is watercolor marker because I get tighter edges. Shading is done with colored pencils, again except for the goop and the gold, which are watercolor markers. I used a touch of digital manipulation at the end to create the purple cast to the lighting, masking off the border to make the windows shine through.
