I don’t blame the doctor’s office.
They were just very backed up with appointments so I had quite a long wait and now I have to come back for tests.
Nice doctor! First appointment and he…

What a patient advocate is…. and why you need to have one in your corner…..
As a medical coder, I have dealt with many patient advocates. Over the years, I have developed a deep and profound respect for patient advocates. Why? You need to see them in action! They will move heaven and earth, and more, for the patient in order to meet and help with any need that arises. They even help stranded coders trying to jump start their car after it dies in the parking lot, in order…

When the insurance won’t approve the procedure you need
What’s one of the best ways to frustrate a patient? When you need a procedure and the insurance doesn’t agreed with that.
Sometimes medical insurance makes a decision that makes you go….Hmmmm.
So is there something you don’t know that insurance knows about the procedure you don’t? Well…..not exactly. The reasons vary from insurance to insurance, and is based usually on what they know about the…
The Money Trap *** (1965, Glenn Ford, Elke Sommer, Rita Hayworth, Ricardo Montalban, Joseph Cotten) –
Director Burt Kennedy’s 1966 watchable but strained Macbeth-style neo noir police crime thriller The Money Trap is a reunion of the great Gilda co-stars (20 years on), Glenn Ford and Rita Hayworth, but by now, alas, well past their prime.
Glenn Ford struggles with the cheese-paring production values as Joe Baron, a poorly paid cop driven to temptation and dirty deeds by his lovely, spendthrift…

by Steve Eastman, Wait Til you Hear This

After all our hard work this past four months, moving day is just days away. After months of preparing you’d think I’d have everything packed and ready to go, instead of waiting to the last minute to finish and running out of boxes and tape. (more…)
Attempting Bryn Donovan’s 100 Prompts to write about yourself, again, because I can’t seem to sit and write a nice blog post about anything because at this point, everything seems worthless. This is prompt number 47, picked at random.
Describe an experience at a doctor’s office, dentist’s or at the hospital.
Touch wood, I’ve been very lucky health-wise. Apart from this one time when I was barely…
Thanks to Carla for sending this… Time to smile before the new week commences.
Yesterday I had an appointment to see the urologist for a prostate
exam. Of course I was a bit on edge because all my friends
have either gone under the knife or had those pellets implanted. The waiting room was filled with patients. As I approached the receptionist’s desk, I noticed that she was a large, unfriendly
wo…

After you have been to enough doctors appointments, you get used to the wait, but it’s usually from 10 minutes to an hour. Except for one doctor, this one takes the gold medal for longest wait in over three years. Today I waited for three hours, and there weren’t a lot of patients there. I have seen more in that waiting room. One time I had to wait outside, but today I didn’t think it would be so…
Cactus Flower Outside Doctor’s Office
Cactus Flower — Grunge Art by kenne
We have been spending a lot of time in doctor’s offices the last few months.
I have been storing thoughts in my head for a future poem as I stare at walls,
some with art, some in need.At sometime in our lives we have all experience the anxious wait, whether as a
patient, parent, partner, or friend. If your lucky, you make it into your seventies
before the…

When working with a client who stutters, we often talk to them about “advertising”. By that, we mean being open about their stutter. Sometimes we’ll have a client go into another therapist’s office and tell them, “I was hoping to talk to you today about stuttering. What do you know about it?” Or they might ask to borrow a stapler, but stutter while they’re doing it (on purpose). Other times…
First, I have to start out with an addendum to last week’s post. Ross brought to my attention (because we have been talking about the disable/destroy button for so long, I’d forgotten), he instituted the disable portion. Mostly, because I just wanted to destroy everything. I’m blood thirsty and pragmatic…what can I say?
On to this week’s topic!
Has anyone else had a full body scan at the…
Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Are Expecting Their Second Child!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have annouced that they are expecting their first child. Since Kim and Kanye’s first child North West was born two years ago Kim has spoken about how she would love to have another baby. Well now seems her dreams have came true as she has annouced that there is a bun in the oven. In typical Kardashian fashion the news was broken on their reality show as Kim told her…
Our daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate and requires frequent visits to the craniofacial center. Every time we’re there I’m humbly reminded how fortunate we are to have an otherwise healthy child. We don’t have to deal with disfigurement or inoperable tumors. A lot of times I just sit in the waiting room praying for the different families that come through.
On one of those visits I had…
It was too early in the morning for the sun to light the sky. Pre-dawn dimmness scratched its paws on my window and the violent pain shooting from my leg startled me from my sleep. I jumped awake.
The pain was wild and strong, and I felt wild and wounded as I paced my room in the pre-dawn darkness, trying a mixture of prayer and massage to coax the cramp away.
Why is this happening?
It was the…
