Ukraine has deployed interceptor drones and a team of specialists to help protect U.S. military bases in Jordan, President Volodymyr Zelensky told the New York Times in an interview published on March 9.
Zelensky said the U.S. requested assistance on March 5 as tensions in the Middle East escalated following strikes on Iran. Ukraine agreed immediately and dispatched the team the next day.
“We reacted immediately,” the president said. “I said, yes, of course, we will send our experts.”
The deployment comes as Iran retaliates against attacks by United States and Israel, launching drones and missiles against U.S. bases, diplomatic facilities, and civilian targets across the region.
Kyiv has developed extensive expertise in countering Iranian-made Shahed-type attack drones since Russia began using them widely in attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure in 2022.
Ukraine has been developing interceptor drones and other technologies to defend its airspace.
Zelensky said Kyiv has discussed security cooperation with several regional states, noting that some maintain strong ties with Moscow that could help secure a ceasefire in Ukraine.
“That’s why I said, Look, so maybe they can speak with Russians and Russians will make a pause,” Zelensky said. “In this case, of course, we can help the Middle East to defend them.”
Tehran has been one of Russia’s closest partners since the start of the full-scale war.

The Night
Tracing patterns on my skin
Wishing it would never end
These miles apart are slowly killing me
I die
lying awake at night
Just to hear your voice
The hum of my phone to keep me awake
Tossing and turning until my body gives out
My mind is numb
I succumb to the darkness
Heavy eyes and a heavy heart
Masked by a bright smile
I don’t dream
When I say I miss you
I’m missing a part of me too
When I say I miss you
I’m missing a part of me too
Rewind the clock
Take me back to a time when you were mine
Don’t know how to do this
I don’t want to do this
On my own its hard, harder than I thought
Thank God for music
Or I’d go insane
Wishing and hoping I’d wake up and it’ll all just be a bad dream
Not a realization that the bed is empty
Untouched, cold
Waiting for winters end
Praying for spring to begin
Darkness to fade into light
Just to be held in your arms
One more time
When I say I miss you
I’m missing a part of me too
When I say I miss you
I’m missing a part of me too
Rewind the clock
Take me back to a time when you were mine
Just hold me
one more time
Kamal has been positioned as the answer to a question Rails developers have asked for years: how do you deploy to your own servers without the overhead of Kubernetes or the cost of a managed platform? And in many ways, it delivers. But the gap between what Kamal promises and what it actually requires in a production environment is wider than most tutorials suggest.

An Honest Take on Deploying Rails with Kamal: What Works and What Doesn’t
