They give you a month to celebrate your history as if they weren’t the one who ripped it away.
They insult your hair but buy wigs and weave to imitate it’s style.
They call you fat but fill their body with silicone to copy your curves
They call you too dark but enter spray tan booths to darken their own skin.

But listen here

Dear black girl,
Don’t listen to what those want to say about you.
The sun is the reason why you glow and the moon is the reason why you rise.
Your skin is the colour of the soil that is the root to the earth’s life.
Your hair defys gravity in its natural state so let it.
You are beautiful and your lineage comes from kings and queens.

Dear black girl,
You may be confused with your background, your history, but now it’s time to make this story, her story, your story.

Canyonlands, Utah. What an incredible view. It felt a bit touristy at the arch so I decided to take a hike and climb to the top of the ridge to the far right. Met up with some awesome humans that lived in the area @snoopgrogg and @brandohosty
These 2 locals were down to earth and adventurous enough to not only climb the ridge, but helped me fix up my van after it broke down for a hot second. Luckily it was just a spark plug! To say the least, it was great timing for what I was going through overall. The universe works in some incredible ways when you allow it to.

In life some people wait for opportunities , they will sit on their couches waiting for someone to create a path for them, don’t be that person, if there is no path then make a path, if there is no way then make a way, if there is no opportunities then create them, be a pathmaker, a trailblazer and that my friends is what inspires people and that is what true success really is

Overcoming adversity against all odds, creating a path, a way to greatness, becoming successful in doing what you do and paying it forward but doing for others who have no way of repaying you other than them doing good for others along the way
