Contour VR - App mit Schwächen zur Projektion von Bildern

Möchte man eine Bildidee mit Hilfe der Meta Quest 3 auf eine nahezu beliebige Fläche projizieren und dann beispielsweise die Konturen übertragen, so ist diese App dafür konzipiert.

8 Screenshots zeigen die wesentlichen Optionen im UI (User Interface).

01 Setup + Welcome

02 Artwork
[nicht ganz gelungen und umständlich: man kann z.B. mit dem PC (oder mit SideQuest) im entsprechenden Quest-Tree in diesem Ordner eigene Bilder hochladen: /Android/data/com.DDXR.Contour/files/; eine eigene Internetseite zum Upload via Drag & Drop gibt es dafür nicht; es können neben PNG auch JPEG Daten verwendet werden; das ist nicht klar dargestellt]

03 Select Image
[aus dem oben beschrieben Pfad oder aus dem Meta Quest Download Ordner; Beschreibung sollte ausführlicher sein; hier wurde nicht viel von den Entwicklern nachgedacht und nicht optimiert]

04 Position
[das zuvor selektierte Bild kann man mit Taste A mit Hilfe eines Rasters an die Zielposition “pinnen”; mit gedrückten Triggern beider Controller ist eine Skalierung möglich; zudem mit Klick “Apply Saved Position Artwork” speichert Contour die derzeitge Position; allerdings sind nach der Skalierung noch weitere Schritte nötig; danach sollte man die Position speichern; hier auch nicht perfekt kommentiert]

05 Adjust
[Einstellungen um das Bild horizontal/vertikal zu verschieben, zu drehen und um die Tiefe (Taste A + Joystick-Button) anzupassen; gewöhnungsbedürftige Steuerung, das Verschieben geht in meinem Test extrem langsam; ist nun die Größe und Position perfekt, sollte man bei 04 dies auch speichern; schließt man die App und kehrt zurück, befindet sich das Bild an der gleichen Position wieder]

06 Draw
[die Entwickler schlagen nun vor, mit der “manuellen” Zeichnungsarbeit" zu beginnen; die Reihenfolge ist aber unstimmig, den mit 07 kann man und sollte man noch visuelle Abstimmungen treffen …]

07 Options
[aus meiner Sicht mag es hilfreich sein, z.B. für die CAMERA die Helligkeit und den Kontrast (Brightness/Contrast) zu justieren; danach käme für meinen Workflow erst der “Draw” Modus]

08 About

Fazit: man kann mit dieser App arbeiten, sie könnte aber deutlich besser sein.

Sculptor Bukichi Inoue was commissioned to design the museum and its grounds. Inoue aspired to create a place for parents and children alike. He also conceived of Earth itself as a sculpture.
