What does it mean when you find out through high in the grapevine that one person is talking about you when you’re not around (as in when you’re not in the office) and by high in the grapevine, I mean higher level managers that aren’t there every day?
Turns out there are factless, very speculative, baseless comments, allegations and rumors spreading about me at a job that I haven’t even worked at for 3 weeks yet. And the main culprit is my immediate manager, which means she’s talking to regular employees and others about me on my days off as a part time employee.
To my face she’s singing loud praise where everyone can hear her. And then she’s going around talking about me to where the other managers brought it to my attention for clarification because it didn’t make sense to them. It makes even less sense to me. Like how does it come to this when I haven’t done anything but help people since I started and presented myself in a very friendly manner? I’m very confused. Especially because she sings such high praises that other people comment on with me.
What is it about me that makes people think they can talk about me and have evidence to prove the weird shit they say? Cause it wasn’t even like anything bad apparently. It was just factless and weird and apparently traveled through different channels. Some of it was probably misunderstandings or miscommunication. The rest seems just like probing information trying to dig something up. I really don’t know.
