Sister in law 42F wants to confront her cheating husband 44M and I don’t know if it’s a good idea?

My sister in law (we’ll call her Amy) is going on a stake-out tomorrow to “catch” her husband (let’s call him Jose) cheating. He’s been telling her that he’s staying at work late, he even came home with makeup on his shirt. She has all the proof, but wants to catch him in the act so she can have “tangible” proof when she files for divorce. I want to support her, I’m going with her (to not let things escalate), but she’s adamant that if she does catch him with someone, she’s going to confront them yes or yes. She wants to let Jose know that SHE knows he’s been cheating and wants to let the other woman know that he’s a liar, etc. They’ve been together 20 years, and he’s already admitted to cheating on her 8 years ago.
I told her she SHOULDN’T confront him; that as soon as she has video proof we leave and she can serve him the divorce papers with the proof. But she’s ADAMANT to confront them.
I know it’s a lot of “ifs”, like IF we catch him, but I don’t want her to put herself in a position where he’s just going to gaslight her AGAIN. Amy is the bestest woman EVER, I’m not afraid of her getting violent or anything like that, I just don’t want her to stoop down so low to Jose’s level (maybe lower) just to CATCH him.
Any advice on how to convince her not to? ANY advice y'all can give HER to keep her dignity?

In the time frame provided, there’s probably not much you can do, but I would encourage her to consult with a lawyer before any confrontation to make sure she’s best protected and in the best position in case of divorce. A lawyer may have several good, legal reasons not to do an emotionally charged confrontation like this.

My friend M29 Im F28 has been wanting to go out with me since 2023. I gave him a chance now since I am recently single and he’s always respected me. But I am wondering if he comes with too much risk? When we went out I learned about his dating history…

In 2023 M29 we will call him josh, wanted to date me F28. I wasn’t dating at the time because I was focused on school and work. We were friends through ups and downs while I was in college, but we didn’t talk when I got a boyfriend.
In January my boyfriend broke up with me to move to New York and has since ghosted me. It’s opened up some mental and emotional space for me and josh was eager to give him and I a try - even if I need to start slow. So the date. He was charming, so charismatic. Romantic too, he reminded me all the things he remembered about me and said I am the most beautiful girl.
But then, he told me his dating history. His last gf and him broke up a year ago. He had taken her on vacation out of the country, and he said he admitted he fell in love with her during that trip, she said the same back. The week she went home, he said he was lonely and had slept with another woman four time that same week. He said he felt guilty, called and confessed and she said she could stay with him but he dumped her bc he said the relationship was just over at that point. He also admitted, in college he slept with HIS friend’s girlfriend. He said in the past three years he has been on multiple trips with different women to other countries, staying at hotels and sleeping with them. His longest relationship before the recent one, he dated for a year and moved in with her, he cheated on her twice. Once after even meeting her family. When he cheated he kicked her out, packed her bags and told her to leave his place, then apologized days later with a picnic was taken back in and a few more days later went on vacation with her family. She even met his parents, but in the end he said he had feelings for two women and broke it off. He also said on social media he used to love flirting with women of all ages and backgrounds for validation when he felt insecure. He said he is different now, he said he has been studying to find a religion and worked with a therapist to address his issues ( i dont know how long for) and he said he is doing grounding and meditation work and found other outlets to control his impulses like intense cardio work outs. He said he is being honest and upfront with me about his past because he has turned a new leaf. But I am worried this is just a set up for failure. I just lost a man I really loved and adored but the thing I was attracted to was respect. Could this man have potential to be respectful of me and not to do to me what he has done for others, or would I be signing up for a train wreck. (sorry) I mean he was an incredible friend, but I don’t and can’t imagine treating people I love the way he does.
This isnt something to brag about it is just a simple fact but when I was single in college - some men would approach me or try to cheat or flirt with me (on their gfs) every single one I blocked. I felt sick imagining even doing that to another girl. Would it be best to cut ties now, on both the friendship and relationship? It would be sad as I have lost two very important people to me to ghosting but I think I also need to think through things clearly and not project what I wish people were onto them and see them as who they are. I just always feel so optmistic, tell me your honest thoughts.

I fully believe people can change, but he sounds like a snake oil salesman to me. People don’t cheat because they have uncontrollable urges. They cheat because their morals aren’t against them cheating, and “finding religion” isn’t doing the hard work of changing your world view. Often, it means finding a religion that will give you a pathway to forgiveness without accountability or reparations. Some people trick you by lying, but others trick you with upfront transparency to manipulate you into believing that they’re self-aware and therefore changed. But being self-aware doesn’t necessarily mean changing.

The 4th King, Geopum

When a man cannot be honest, he chooses wrong. He is blinded by shadows that haunt his every move. Bravado is a blindfold and a crutch.

TW/CW: Mentions of miscarriages, gaslighting, manipulation, spousal abuse, emotional abuse, suicide, murder plot, cheating, masturbation, exhibitionism

Geopum the Giant. Geopum the Strong. Geopum the Infertile. Geopum the Wrong. This is how children today are taught about the 4th King of Scintillaria. The second most popular variation goes as such:

Jinyoung was first. Jihoon wasn’t strong. Taiji was too fertile, and Geopum was wrong.

This is believed to be the original. However, chronology doesn’t always mean well known. What is to note is the similarities between the two. Geopum is always wrong. Why is that?

Well, one must start with his upbringing. He was the apple of his father’s eyes. The child grew quickly and continued to tower above everyone his age. King Taiji adored Geopum so much so that some questioned if he even remembered he had a legitimate daughter first or another son as backup. In the diaries of several royals, it has been noted that Taiji would often flirt with his daughter Iseul when drunk.

As for Seok, he did his best to stay out of his father’s way. He quickly left home once he was a teen and ruled over the same planet his uncle Juno had taken care of before he passed. It was better to be ignored in person but remembered on paper. He had three children with a lovely woman named Megan, but all of those children abdicated from the royal family. Mok was the oldest and a boy. So and Ri were twins and defined themselves as nonbinary. After leaving the Scintillarian royals, they all but disappeared from records.

Now Geopum was a sleazy bastard like his father but also became weak to powerful women. Not even with strength. He loved breaking down ladies who saw themselves as sassy or independent. Such was the case with his first wife Yongsun. She was a self made seamstress with designs that Queen Yeji demanded be made just for her and the royal court. Geopum broke down her self worth so much that she no longer had confidence in her work and thus that work suffered. To keep her from becoming destitute, she eventually begged the prince to marry her.

She never sewed anything outside of what was expected ever again. She simply made blankets and curtains with the typical images of birds and stars. However, her body was so stressed all the time that every single baby she ever had was lost. Not many stuck in the first place. These factors along with a stunning new courtesan named Ahn making her debut as a dancer led Geopum to divorce Yongsun.

“Where do I know you from?” He asked her hours after the seamstress had been removed from the palace.

“I am the daughter of Im Minho and longtime friend of your big sister.” She said sweetly.

Geopum tapped his chin, “Big sister…big sister…I have an older sister?”

Ahn motioned over to the woman in royal navy blue, lavender, and gold hanbok. She lowered her fan for a moment to drink whatever had been offered to her. Sure enough, she had the same face as his mother, only a tad softer.

“Oh, right. What’s her name?” He asked.

“Iseul, your highness.” Ahn replied.

“Uh. I see.” Geopum was uninterested. “How come you weren’t attractive before? If you’ve been around so often, I would have noticed someone as gorgeous as you.”

She smiled, “Thank you very much for your praise, precious prince. I was not graceful nor womanly before. I seem to have grown assets you seem to be enjoying. I’ve heard from my teachers that it is quite rude to stare.”

He was nearly drooling over her ample bosom but stopped once he heard the snark and attitude in her voice, “That’s why they’re your teachers, not mine.”

The two continued their conversation. More and more, Geopum was convinced that he would put her in her place. She spoke too freely and gave attention to other men when he was right there! The wench even had the gall to leave their conversation and do her usual dance with everyone in the room. Clearly, she was trying to run away from him, but oh. He loved a good chase.

Through love letters filled with lies, Prince Geopum finally wore her down won her over. The two were soon engaged. Yongsun ended her life the day of the announcement. Finding her final resting place in her ex-husband’s bed. Needles in places where needles shouldn’t be.

“Ugh! Clean this up! She always did have to have the last word. So dramatic.” He rolled his eyes and scoffed. As he turned, his robes fluttered behind him in a display of disgust.

The young man passed by his sister practicing her magic. She could make little dolls from the thread that came from her fingers. However, she could now give life to those fabric poppets. Not just simple puppeteering. Geopum couldn’t remember when or how she got that skill. Truth was, neither could she. All but Seok had reached the Brink. Geopum had the ability to control shadows and now he could control a person through their shadow. It was some sort of life magic.

He had nearly died in a battle during an ambush in the woods. This was a section known for very strong Lantern Beasts, but the prince thought he could take them. After refusing to die post the initial beating, he went after them again. Coming back from the Brink had fully healed him. Yet, he returned to the castle with a broken arm and a black eye. He limped for nearly three months. But he still won.

Before Taiji went to war with someone who was supposed to be an ally, he named Geopum as next in line to the throne if he didn’t return. He said that Cosmic Heritage had chosen his most worthy child for the role. When the King’s head was sent back apart from his body, Geopum became the new King. He did everything his father would’ve wanted him to do.

Ahn seemed to be trusting herself less and less as well. The only thing in his way was Iseul. Ever since their father left, she felt more free to do as she pleased. She didn’t bow to her brother because she was older.

“I am a man though! Which means–”

“Which means fuck all to me! I don’t care what you are to the Kingdom or to our father. To me, you’re nothing but a waste of cosmic energy.” She began to walk away.

“Get back here!” Geopum tried to grab her shadow.

However, she had already made her move. The threads of the prince’s clothes fell apart at once and caused him to trip over them. He was left naked in the castle’s courtyard. Servants quickly turned away and did their best to keep it together.

He’d show her! Now that he was king, she’d be banished. He just had to find a good enough reason to get rid of her. Those softhearted advisors would surely speak up against it. Geopum couldn’t take the risk of them turning against him, so he needed something.

Embarrassing him wasn’t enough, so he’d use his own allies to frame her for something a bit more serious. Based on Ahn’s growing belly, they had a child on the way. It would be a shame if Iseul got jealous and tried to off her sister-in-law.

One of the child servants went up crying to Iseul, getting snot and tears on her expensive robes, “Go-go-Geopum took my doll! I was playing with it, but he said it was useless!” She wept.

The eldest wiped the kid’s eyes, “There there. I’ll make you a new one. It can have your same beautiful hair and sparkling brown eyes.” She began to weave magic with her fingers and turn it into thread.

Yarn thick and thin worked together to make a 5 inch version of the girl in front of the princess. She was so happy and hugged the doll. With a word of thanks, the little one ran off. When she was far enough away, she transformed into the older man she really was. The green eyed Yang held the trifle in his hand and scowled. He got what he needed.

The doll was stuffed with dangerous powders and leafy poisons which would make someone very sick if not kill them outright. Especially if heated. It was then put into an ornate box and placed in front of Ahn’s room. There wasn’t enough to kill the queen, but it would make her unconscious for some time.

Yang was one of Geopum’s best friends. The two were often teased saying the older man was the king’s consort. Green eyes oversaw the plan to help get his princess banished while making sure he couldn’t be linked to it in any believable way. His servants moved in darkness to get the box with the poison doll into Queen Ahn’s room. It claimed to be from Iseul for the future baby.

Yang then had his paramour heat up the room a bit hotter than usual since–

“It’s going to be colder than usual tonight, your highness. I wouldn’t want you to catch a chill.” Nabi flittered from the main door to the fireplace and used her heating magic on the 10 hour coals.

She made sure the doll was nearby.

Ahn was already snuggled in her sheets, “Thank you, Nabi. You always take such detailed care of me. Though, I can’t help but feel a bit worried.”

“Don’t worry about it.” The shrill voice crooned. “It’s just your paranoid baby brain talking. You’ll feel better after some rest, your highness.”

She bowed and then left the room. Yang caught her around the waist and shushed her before kissing her neck.

“How’d you do?” He asked in her ear.

“It’s propped up perfectly. Just like you said.” She looked up to him with her adorable and small eyes.

Yang smiled, “Good. You’re so good. I’ll go tell our king his wife has gone to bed for the night. Go do what you should. I’ll find a time to give you your reward, kitten whiskers.”

Nabi giggled, “Okay.” and bit her lip.

Yang relayed the news to King Geopum in his royal chambers. The slightly smaller man looked at his general. Smaller in muscle. Yang was swole while Geopum was simply strong. Both men were large, nearly bursting out of their robes at all times. The king loved to see him kneeling…because everyone should’ve been subservient to him. Not because it was attractive or arousing in any way. Duh.

“You’ve done well. I shall ensure your wife gets the medicine she needs quickly. I appreciate your observations and…decidication to the crown.” Geopum saw the sweat underneath his collar due to the fur trim of his outfit. “You may go. Get your rest. We have a big day tomorrow.”

Yang stood, “Of course, your majesty. Sleep well.” and left.

Geopum exhaled. He had taken care of himself the whole time his friend was there, now shooting out a generation of children that stuck underneath his low table. Wiping his hands on his robes, he was changed into his sleepwear and went to bed. Everything was according to plan.

The next morning, a too eager king rushed to see his queen. Nabi had screamed and come to tell him of the news mere minutes ago. This was it! He was finally going to break Ahn down to be his perfect wife, and his troublesome sister would be out of his way.

Part 2 to this story will come out in soon. Thank you so much for reading.

Heard it All Before

Simone came back to the house and was ready to talk to Damion, she watched Sapphire walk down the stairs and all hell broke loose.

I think she was more embarrassed than angry but I don’t know which side she used more😅 They say there is something in the McNeal genes and having a heated argument is one of them which I think we’ve all done at some point and it always comes out when there is a problem with a relationship and Simone is yet again another example of our McNeal genes.

Anyway, Simone confronted Damion about what was going on when she was away and he said “look, I didn’t expect things to go as far as it did”. But like most of us especially me we’ve heard it all before. And Simone was not having anything of it.

She said how all of us were really weary about him and everything we were all worried about was true. But then he had the audacity to say “well all of your weak ass family don’t know who tf I am”. She was extremely appalled by it but as a true McNeal she gave him a piece of her mind and decided to call their relationship off.

On a bit of a side note, she was really sad about leaving this house over their relationship which says a lot about my sister😂

But now she has decided to move in with Mom and Dad which is a blessing really considering their situation. When she told them the news Mom seemed super thrilled about it and Dad well he seemed really sad about it. But both of them knew after she said the reason why that it was the right thing to do.

Me and Sierra found out and we were super proud of her for standing on business and giving him the reason to never cross a McNeal. Because I could seriously throw fists at that… sorry got carried away there.😅

But now is her time to reflect and maybe reconcile with Cole because let’s face it we all desperately want these two back together again. But only time will tell.

No Love

All of Simone’s insecurities must be coming true because whilst she’s away the cat comes to play😒so Damion has been cheating on Simone with Sapphire literally the two newbies are basically having it on with each other. And you know what Dad is going to be so brokenhearted. Mom is going to kind of feel some type of relief. I am also feeling some sort of relief because the Parkes women have a thing about cheating on their partners. No offence to Jasmine (we are on great terms btw) but I know this is going to hurt Simone.

Guys don’t cheat……………….

Academically speaking ofc. I want to clarify by first saying I AM NOT A CHEATER!!….. BUT I had a 50 question (non multiple choice) ap world test (i’m a freshman so my “ap world class” is two years long, no ap credit first year) and the teachers gave us 30 minutes in class two days before the test to look at the test questions and review as a class……. Now OBVIOUSLY this sophomore in my class (it’s a joint freshman and sophomore class) took photos of ALL THE TEST QUESTIONS, uploaded them to chatgpt, and then posted answers to them on a quizlet link that got shared to literally everyone. And the crazier thing is the teachers gave us a cheat sheet/note card to go home with to write down what we needed from the AMSCO not knowing that literally everyone had access to the answers. So like ANY struggling student who desperately needed to get their grade up in a competitive school where having a 92 is basically failing, i wrote down the answers on my notecard……. duh? I mean people were sharing the summaries they wrote 2 minutes before the bell rang outside of class, someone with a 99 average in that class wrote it down word for word </3. Now some people (shout out to my goat) cheated a lot smarter and said they lost the notecard only to pull it out when the teacher wasnt looking. I THOUGHT I’d get away with it because what I did was write down SUPER tiny and out of order so the teachers couldnt read it well but the teacher came around to my table when my friend left for the bathroom and picked up his notecard. He looked at it, asked if it was mine, and I said no because I thought he got caught. But then he asked for MY notecard so i handed it to him and when I tell you my heart literally stopped I think I reaached a new height of adrenaline when he said “go to the library”…….. God that was so INSANELY scary…. While I was sitting in the library I looked around and I see some kids in class who’re also low-90 grade students and they’re all EXTREMELY nervous. I’m the kind of person who giggles a little when they’re nervous so I started making small talk with them and we all lowkey bonded over our reasons for having to cheat and what got us caught. I go to a predominately asian school so one thing that got people caught was writing the answers in chinese </3. Yeah the teachers did NOT play about that kind of stuff and sent them straight to the library. Some people had better strategies than me and they STILL got caught. The teacher gave us all a paper to tell us how we cheated, why we cheated, and where we got the answers from. I confessed easy, I got as far as that door, no point in getting in more trouble. I saw some kids though straight up BSING their answers like twin you did NOT memorize 50 questions be so fr </3. Some of the guys involved in the quizlet scheme got their story straight and pinned it on this one guy who wasnt even involved but he’s an ass, BUT that SAME GUY also cheated, got caught, and still got a 21/50…… So that story flew out the window……. I don’t get why ppl were trying to lie what excuse could POSSIBLY get you out of that omg. And the guy next to me writing his reflection (he was involved) HAD A PURE 100 AVERAGE THAT HE ACTUALLY EARNED. I asked him why he cheated and he js wanted that easy A whole time while he was writing his reflection I could hear him mumbling cursing himself out for “being so fucking stupid” :’). When the teacher collected our papers, he gathered us in a circle and to sum up the monologue he gave us, he was expecting kids to cheat since it was a very hard test and knows he didn’t catch all of them so he’s exempting the grade entirely. So I guess I got away with my first time cheating like this?? I’m never trying that shit ever AGAIN omg?? I only felt guilty doing it and while getting caught and ik my friend is boasting in the gc how he didnt get caught wait till he finds out it’s not a grade anymore……. But at least I made new friends from this experience who learned the same thing as me, so moral of the story, DONT CHEAT GANG!!!

Austin is right, it’s more disrespectful to cheat on your partner in public than it is to have to sneak around and hide it.

Like atleast if you’re sneaking around it indicates you have shame for what you are doing and know its wrong. When you’re all daylight about it, it’s like not only are you breaking the trust with your partner, you’re telling the world around you how little respect you have for them. It’s basic etiquette.
