Has Trump misunderstood Iran’s IRGC and the Basij forces?
“…Donald viszont a bejegyzésében azt írta, hogy tudomása szerint az iráni Iszlám Forradalmi Gárda, a katonaság, valamint a további biztonsági és rendőrségi erők sok egysége nem akar harcolni, hanem élni kíván a számára felajánlott büntetlenség lehetőségével.
Megismételte korábbi szavait, amelyek szerint „most büntetlenséget élvezhetnek, később csak halál lehet a részük”, és arra sürgette az iráni biztonsági erők tagjait, hogy álljanak a „hazafiak pártjára".“
Kurvára nem érti a narancsfejű csávó.
Ezek vallási fanatikusok, őrültek. Az iszlámban ráadásul a hit védelmében, érdekében életüket feláldozók kiváltságos helyzetben vannak.
Mártírok lesznek! Kihagyva a felesleges köröket, tisztítótüzet stb rögtön a paradicsomba, Jennah-ba jutnak!
És a mártíroknak rohadt jó dolguk lesz a paradicsomban!
Naphosszat heverésznek a süppedős isfahani szőnyegeken a tubafa alatt, ahová több patak is csobog, egyikben tiszta forrásvíz, másikban édes bor, aztán mézes tej, farsi-cola, talán még pepsicocacola is.

Az irak-irani háborúban a Forradalmi Gárda fiókszervezete, a Basij (Baszidzs) félkatonai milícia, ami nagyrészt mélyen vallásos civilekből áll, saját akaratukból, zöld homlokpánttal fejükön, fegyver nélkül Allah nevét üvöltve rohantak az aknamezőre, hogy szabaddá tegyék az utat az utánuk következő tapasztaltabb harcosoknak.
Mi meg a teherani szállóban nap mint nap néztük a tévében a gyászzenére pásztázó kamera képét, amint egy ütközet után a sivatagban heverő, darabokra tépett, a naptól felpuffadt és megfeketedett halottakat mutatta.

#iran_briefing / With ongoing electricity shortages in Iran, President Hassan Rouhani’s chief of staff announced Thursday that the #Basij paramilitary will get involved in locating illegal #cryptocurrency miners, who are partly blamed for the current surge in energy use.
Mahmoud Vaezi said that cryptocurrency mining by thousands of powerful computers has spread even to government offices, in addition to private computer farms, homes and even chicken farms.
During last winter’s cold and with summer heatwaves in June, Iran has been experiencing severe power shortages leading to long blackouts in major cities. In recent days, protesters have out into the streets demanding an end to power cuts.
Some #Bitcoin miners have government permits, but they have been banned from operating until the end of August when temperatures begin to go down.
Some argue that the among of electricity used in crypto mining is not so significant overall to cause blackouts. Others have argued that the Islamic Republic has failed to make sufficient investments in the sector and Iran’s power generation and distribution networks are in need of improvements and re-equipment.
Daily electricity consumption this week reached 66,000 megawatts, while the network can hardly produce 50,000 MW.
Power cuts have begun impacting production, food supply and hospitals, where emergency rooms lose power and critical-care patients die.

#iran_briefing / A senior official of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Tuesday said the Guards had become “more seriously involved” in domestic security on the instructions of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
“The enemy uses every cleft [to get in and] mess up things in the country so there must be preparation [to counter it],” Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Imam Ali Central Security Headquarters, Brigadier-General Gholam-Hossein Gheybparvar, said during a visit to South Khorasan Province.
Imam Ali Central Security Headquarters is an IRGC unit responsible for the volunteer paramilitary Imam Ali Brigades of the Basij, who are trained as riot police and under #IRGC command.
The brigades played a big role suppressing urban protests in recent years alongside the Special Unit of the Law Enforcement Forces (#NAJA), which according to Iran International analyst Morad Vaisibiame is “as old as dissent in the Islamic Republic.”
Hundreds were killed and thousands arrested in unrest in November 2019 by security forces including IRGC Intelligence, NAJA and the Intelligence Ministry. In a speech in Shiraz on November 26 Gheybparvar, a former commander of the #Basij militia, denounced “rioters” and “terrorists.”
IRGC involvement in homeland security is not without controversy. Some argue the Guards confine their role to military matters and not operate in parallel to NAJA, the general police, or the Intelligence Ministry. But IRGC that has expanded its role into many other spheres argues it should employ a wide understanding of security to counter threats. Iran’s hardliners do not recognize popular protest as a domestic phenomenon and always argue that it is fomented by “enemies” abroad.
“The IRGC is responsible for national security including counter-terrorism and will act against anything that threatens national security and interests,” Kamal Dehghani, a former chairman of the Parliament’s National Security Committee said in January 30 2018. Hence cooperation between the IRGC and NAJA had advantages: “Assisting each other to maintain order and public security doesn’t cream a problem.”
