they have your hair and your smile and my eyes and they’re tanned from the sun and the food and the ocean and they squeal and giggle like we do and they ask questions and fall down rabbit holes like we do and they love jam and chocolate like we do and there’s a precious toy rabbit with handmade clothes watching from your lap (safe with dad) and they do not know pain like i did.
they feel safe and warm and happy and they’re well adjusted and kind and smart and my mother teaches them scots and i look at them and i just glow.
and they know we are mad for each other they know how to love someone they know how to speak to someone and they know how they should be spoken to because we are good parents.

People coming out of the woodwork to support ballet & opera ever since Timothy Charlatan spoke down on these art forms is a win in my book. Some ballet/opera-heads are crying about “bandwagon fans”, but if it brings more people into the theater seats that’s all that matters imo. These artists need to eat! Not to mention the past (and one would argue present as well) ballet & opera worlds being gatekept by white “upper class” for ages. We need to eradicate that mindset. Ballet and opera is for everyone.
