M51 and M82, M83 using my Carbonstar 200 mm scope. These are the first images captured since getting my QHY268M camera back from China. It had been out for repairs to the dew heating system and to clean the inside of the optical window that was covering the sensor. Filters were 25 year old Astrodon LRGB series E. Mount is my trusty 25 year old Losmandy G11. Took some work to remove artifacts of light pollution. Unfortunately some still remain.

Tulajdonképpen jobban láthatóvá válik a ködösség morfológiája. A teljes fotó szűrőnként 7-7-7 órányi expóidőből áll össze.

NGC 2244 - Rosette Nebula SHO

This nebula is located 5,200 light-years away from our solar system in the constellation of the Monoceros. A very spectacular photo destination with all kinds of equipment. Even with a small lens, and even with a mobile phone, it can be seen photographed in night mode.

In the center of the nebula are very hot stars with a temperature of more than 30,000 Kelvin, whose infernal radiation excites the entire nebula, which is also not small… 120 light-years in diameter… in fact, it looks almost as big as the full moon, in fact.

The wind of the stars erodes and deforms the nebula, in which the dark dust clouds on the left collapse and further star formation starts in them.

The recording was made with a monochrome 585 camera with an 800mm focal length 20cm mirror telescope. However, the filter system does not return the natural colors, but the filters are substituted for the colors: SHO - the red channel is set to sulphur, hydrogen to green and oxygen to blue, of course there is some freedom in the photo processing. In fact, the morphology of the nebula becomes more visible. The entire photo consists of 7-7-7 hours of exposure per filter.

Astro setup tonight. We still have some snow, even with the warmest day we’ve had in a while, high of 74F/23C. I don’t know if the weather’s going to hold, but I might start on M51, Whirlpool Galaxy with the Apertura CarbonStar 150 (150mm diameter primary mirror, 600mm focal length at f/4) and the ZWO ASI715MC, which isn’t the best camera for this, but we’ll see how it does. I also have the ZWO ASI220MM off-axis and the 2inch Antlia UV/IR cut filter in the drawer.
