Now that I had a very simple way to consistently present myself as the subject, I could focus on the other aspects of the pictures - setting a scene, playing with poses, style, clothing and objects.

The model I was using at the time understood a few things, but struggled with a lot of concepts like running your hands through your hair or knowing what a vibrator looks like.

To this end, I used other peoples LoRAs that they published to civitai. Some of these were pretty straightforward - the corset and the vibrator you can simply use the LoRAs trigger e.g. “wearing a corset” or “ holding a teal lelosorayavib vibrator”.

The pose in the second image was intended by the LoRAs creator to show someone removing their top, but I was able to repurpose it for my own use instead.

And the final picture combines several LoRAs all at once:

Talked to Josh and Nick! Will be printing the missile with the speech bubble using screen printing, one two seperate screens since I’ll be cutting them out and positioning them while actually pasting up. I’ve sent the file to Nick in the actual size to print a positive. I’m aiming to get the screen made this week, (positive, coating, exposing) and using the one arm press to print lots of them next week. For the speech bubble itll be on a smaller frame and i’ll be able to hand print it.

I’ve also sent over the posters to Nick to print out in A2, which will probably be done this week too.

Some info I got from talking to Josh:

DOCUMENTING AU BFDI PROGRESS #PART 1

Things to say!! (excuse my English, I’m a Spanish speaker..)

Finally… well, these past two weeks I’ve been thinking about a project and have been making progress on certain parts. I know I don’t even have an audience to support me or the resources to be an artist (that’s why I’m inactive, besides my laziness, hehe…), I’m just starting this on my own. This is a personal project of mine, since… ever since I was a fan of BFDI at age 10, back in 2018. I always imagined my favorites singing on stage with my favorites songs, even if it was just from a radio, very late at night with electronic music remixes… my 10-year-old self had so many ideas and did so many things, I even played with doodles of the characters pretending to have a celebrity life and other ideas in my head. But I asked myself… why not make it a reality? Since seeing other AU’s from other communities like Hellpark, it inspired me to do this, although for now I’ll be doing it alone. I admit I don’t like interacting much with the BFDI fandom; I’m usually a reserved person, to be honest. But hey, you’re bound to meet people you don’t like in life, I guess.

Now then, name of the AU:

Battle For Legendary Stardom (BFLS)

Yes, I changed some parts of the original series name, but… I’ll keep the “Battle for…” to maintain the series identity.

Creating the name was a bit complicated for me, since, as I said, I’m a Spanish speaker and I have trouble understanding English as it is, especially when I’m using a translator. To make the name, I had to do some research to ensure it was clear, as we know Google Translate can sometimes be terrible.

In BFDI, instead of competing for the island of dreams, in this BFLS (Battle For Legendary Stardom) universe they compete to be the biggest superstar, where ambition and greed are commonplace. However, some elements like eliminations, alliances, rivalries, and drama will still be present in this alternate universe, sometimes just like in the original series. For example, some canonical relationships between characters, like the friendship between Tennis Ball and Golf Ball, will undoubtedly remain; they have a deep connection in my AU, just like in the original. Hehe, except that in my alternate universe there will be romance and heartbreak later on…

Oh, by the way, I thought that in my AU viewers could vote for their favorites. Or eliminate someone? I don’t know, you can decide that. (I don’t even have an audience and I say this stupid thing XDD)

Scheme of the au

In my AU, I was somewhat inspired by famous shows like American Idol, YoSoy (a very popular reality show in my country), and The Voice. BFLS will document the lives of adolescents (between 14 to 16 years) competing to become the next superstar, how they interact with each other, and how things develop over time. They’ll obviously receive support from the host, Announcer, an eccentric billionaire with crazy ideas. He created a huge music studio agency where the contestants will boost their musical careers, but they’ll also live in a large hotel-mansion, also owned by Announcer, where the teenagers will live together day after day throughout their journey. The downside is that everything they do will be filmed and documented.

It will be a show full of opportunities and fun moments, but as time goes on, the backstage moments will go from fun to boring and repetitive. Interviews, public approval, paparazzi, and the pressure of creating songs daily will generate stress and conflict in teenagers, who would like to return to their lives as they were before. I think.

Well, for now I’m thinking of only implementing 20 characters in this AU, who will be the contestants (the 20 original characters from the first season of the original series). I doubt this project will get any support later on, but I’ll give it my all.. yeah.

Oh, wait, Announcer won’t be alone with his idea. Judges like Winner and Loser will be there. They’ve been huge superstars since the 2010s. (Oh yeah, my AU starts in 2010, the exact year the first official bfdi episode was uploaded.) I almost forgot something… Profily will be the comedian and co-host of this reality show in my AU. They the one who documents everything that happens during the show. they won’t let the contestants sleep… they going to document their lives and everything they do 24/7.

And for now, that’s all, hehe… I’ll try to document more. I’ll make sure this is every Saturday, well… if there are Saturdays when I don’t post anything, it’s because I also have an academic life at university (Okay… 18 years old and straight into university, without even a break from that sh#tty school).

I sincerely hope that little by little I’ll find people who want to collaborate with me voluntarily on this project, well, it’s more of a dream since I was a BFDI fan. To create an AU where it’s a singing battle.

I’m just starting to put all this together on my own, but even if it takes me years, the important thing is to keep my ideas clear. Although I did think I’d like to add animations to my AU like Hellpark (the content of my AU is going to kill me… but oh well, I’ve thought that later it will be uploaded to TikTok and here, a blog about the AU). I know I’m not a professional animator or anything like that, I haven’t even used Alight Motion for 4 years. But listen, in April they’re buying me a graphics tablet and I won’t have to draw with my fingers anymore!!!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! I almost forgot that in my AU the characters are humanized, SORRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. (By the way, these will be different designs, not like the casual humanizations I sometimes do… I still need to find the right aesthetic, but not yet)

just finished shooting a project i’ve been calling oops! all self portraits. i challenged myself load up a 24 exposure roll and only take photos of myself in one way or another.

self portraiture was a huge part of my creativity + photographic process growing up, but i often feel intimidated by the expectations i had then of “myself” as a subject. so this was a way to shake the dust off + be more spontaneous + document myself as i am in the moment 🫡
