On Through the Night is the debut album by British hard rock band Def Leppard, released in March 1980. It was certified platinum by the RIAA on May 9, 1989.
“Wasted” and “Hello America” were released as singles. However, the version of “Wasted” that appears on the single is different from the album version.

Currently Listening To: Iron Firmament, In the Land of Pre-Human Kings
Unsurprisingly another IF banger. I’m drawn to the greater proportion of super heavy rock beats vs blast beats here, which I always like in black metal. That one part around 5:30 in the first track when the drums kick in is especially tasty, and a great iteration on IF’s more ambient side.
The theming does make me raise an eyebrow though. They seem to be going for a very Hyperborea/Thule, almost theosophic vibe, which does raise an alarm bell in me, especially with titles like “Purged of All Southern Influence.” Ultimately though it’s most likely just standard medieval-by-way-of-19th-century-Romanticism IF aesthetics.

California death metal. One of the OGs as they’ve been together for 30+ years! With a band like this it’s a ‘what you see is what you get’. I’m not looking for Exhumed for anything enlightening or really do I even go to them when I am looking for death metal. However, here we are. It’s top heavy with the best track being #1, 'Unsafe At Any Speed.’
