Swans for @GoodLuckSock. I’m an eldest sibling, so I was forced to endure movies my youngest siblings watched. Why do I bring this up? The Swan Princess was probably played over 8 million times in my home growing up. My burning hatred for that movie that will probably outlast the heat death of the universe.

According to illustrator and New Yorker cartoonist Liana Finck, sticking to a strict daily routine (one that includes jogging past a dog park) allows her to cultivate her wonderfully rich inner life. And it seems to work—the young artist has just published her third book, Excuse Me: Cartoons, Complaints, and Notes to Self, while keeping up with her wildly popular Instagram account (which has almost 400k followers).
In this video, Liana takes the Cut through a day in her life, and talks us through her inspirations, how she cultivated her famous “anti-style,” and her favorite drawing pen.
