A hearty Southern dish with seasoned ground beef patties smothered in rich gravy, great for a cozy family dinner.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs. ¼ cup chopped onion. 1 egg, beaten. ¼ cup milk. ¼ teaspoon black pepper. ½ teaspoon seasoned salt. ½ teaspoon onion powder. ½ teaspoon garlic powder. ¼ cup all-purpose flour. 1 ¾ cups beef broth. ¼ cup water. ½ cup milk.
Instructions: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, beaten egg, ¼ cup milk, black pepper, seasoned salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Shape mixture into 4-6 oval patties. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties until browned on both sides. Remove patties from skillet and set aside. Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, sprinkle flour over pan drippings. Cook and stir until flour is browned. Gradually whisk in beef broth and ¼ cup water. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in ½ cup milk and return patties to skillet. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until patties are cooked through and gravy is thickened. Serve hot, spooning gravy over patties.
