trying to buy a new mattress. my latex allergy is getting worse and we think my latex mattress might be causing it (along with a backside covered in hives). why must it be so hard to find a mattress that is actually latex free and not just lying about it.
additionally, fellow people with mobility impairments - particularly full time wheelchair users or those with spinal issues, what type of bed firmness do you find reduces pain the most while still being firm enough where a transfer isn’t basically dragging me out of a hole in the bed?

April 7th: Have you had people treat you differently after you told them you were autistic? In what ways? How did you feel about it and what did you do?

Most people kind to me , and act like talk to child softly. Will never understand some people who see autistic adult and have need to give a treat? Many times go to food bank and them give me special things, like roses or candy or lots of pudding. Very kind, but also not sure why. Sometimes hard, and not want extra attention.
Some people not nice, though. Some people don’t know what wrong with me, but know something wrong, so whisper or say mean things or call rude names. Now that have caregiver full time happens lot less. But sometimes people will ask caregiver or family what’s wrong with me, or if I’m special (or use ruder word instead(.

wish could not have language issues, know how speak know words but dont know what mean dont know how to find them in head.
seeing new therapist she is nice but dont know how to have conversation. takes me hours takes me long to think sentence makes sense, all therapy for autistic adult just low support know how to communicate but not me intellectual disabled language impairment. need help. need aac. not allowed caretaker to be same room together for therapy. they get frustrated i dont speak they get mad i dont make progress but dont know what words mean what how make sentences need help they dobt allow.
will go with caretaker met horses therapy excited love horses so much want them to like me.
