RUBY AND DIAMOND NECKLACE, M. GÉRARD

Argyle violet diamonds are among the rarest gems on Earth, exclusively sourced from the now-closed Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia. In over 30 years of production, the Argyle mine produced only 12 carats of polished violet diamonds. Unlike most diamonds that get their color from trace elements, violet diamonds are hydrogen-rich, which creates their unique lavender and grape hues.

Most Argyle violets are small, typically under 0.20 carats; stones over 1 carat are “virtually unheard of”. The largest and most famous is the 2.83-carat deep grayish bluish violet diamond unearthed in 2015.

Different Types of Diamond Cuts Explained

The cut of a diamond plays a major role in how beautiful and brilliant it appears. Many people confuse the cut with the diamond’s shape, but the cut actually refers to how the stone is crafted to reflect light. A well cut diamond allows light to pass through its facets in a way that creates the shine diamonds are known for.

One of the most popular options is the round brilliant cut, admired for its exceptional shine and timeless appeal. Another modern favorite is the princess cut, which has a square shape and offers both elegance and strong brilliance.

For those who prefer elongated designs, the oval cut is a great choice. Its shape can make the diamond appear larger while giving jewellery a graceful look. Similarly, the pear cut, often called the teardrop shape, combines a rounded edge with a pointed tip, creating a distinctive and elegant style.

The emerald cut is known for its sophisticated appearance, featuring step-cut facets that produce a subtle mirror-like effect instead of intense sparkle. Meanwhile, the cushion cut offers soft rounded corners and a vintage feel.

Many modern jewellery brands, including Emori, use these diamond cuts in their lab grown diamond collections, offering styles that combine timeless brilliance with contemporary design.

Best Diamond Jewellery Gifts for Anniversaries

Anniversaries are special milestones that celebrate love, commitment and the journey two people share. Finding the right gift for such an occasion can feel challenging, but diamond jewellery remains one of the most timeless and meaningful choices. Diamonds symbolize strength, beauty and forever, making them perfect for celebrating lasting relationships.

One of the most popular anniversary gifts is a diamond band. Elegant and symbolic, diamond bands represent eternity and can be worn daily alongside engagement or wedding rings. Another classic choice is diamond stud earrings, which offer effortless shine and work beautifully for both everyday wear and special occasions.

For a more personal and sentimental gift, diamond pendants are a wonderful option. A delicate solitaire or heart shaped pendant adds subtle brilliance and becomes a cherished piece that can be worn close to the heart. Diamond bracelets also make stunning anniversary gifts, bringing sophistication and grace to any look.

For those who love modern styles, stackable diamond rings are a thoughtful choice. They allow the wearer to build a unique ring stack over the years, making each anniversary even more memorable.

At Emori, lab grown diamond jewellery combines timeless elegance with a modern, sustainable approach to luxury—making every anniversary gift even more meaningful.
