This Birthday Feels Different A New Chapter Begins

This Birthday Feels Different… A New Chapter Begins ✨

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WHFba3f7zDc

Today I’m celebrating 48 years around the sun and stepping into a new chapter in my entrepreneurial journey.

What started as sharing recipes from my mama’s kitchen has grown into Spilling the Sweet Tea, cookbooks, brand partnerships, and an amazing community that loves cooking at home. I’m so grateful for how far this journey has come.

This birthday isn’t just about celebrating another year of life, it’s about celebrating what’s to come. Bigger dreams, new opportunities, and continuing to build something meaningful.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. The best is still ahead. 💙

Teriyaki Prawns

We made this a bit back and posted it but tumblr decided I don’t deserve nice things so reposting it now. it was really good and I highly recommend it.

Only 176kcal for half of the recipe and 32g of protein if you care about that. It’s great on its own but pairs well with a bit of rice

Ink, Fire, and Flour: A Grey Warden Cookbook

For those of you that don’t know a few months ago a group of very talented authors came together to write a Grey Warden Cookbook (AO3 link) where each recipe was accompanied by a letter from or to a Grey Warden. The goal was to show the diversity of the wardens, in priorities, in culture, in life, and in goals, as a reflection of their food.

I spent a few months and put it into a proper cookbook.

Its available for anyone to download at this link:

If you make or use any of these recipes please let the authors know! Thank you so much to @bygonesigh @woundedsoul12 @iicaru2 @floralprintsharks @teine-mallaichte

thank you to @curiouswisp for letting me use the amazing dividers she made for Rookfest for this too!

Made the Chocolate Cake from the Stardew Valley cook book. I was expecting it to take 40 min to an hour, but it ended up taking all day 0_o

Regardless, this is the first time I’ve made a tiered cake, so I’m proud! Plus I have so much more appreciation for bakers now Xp

Notes on Delicious Japanese Street Eats by Laure Kié

Look at that. I remembered how to do the accent marks to get the author’s name right! Anyway, onto the food. I mean recipes. I mean book. Why do I always do the cookbooks when I’m hungry?

Gonna be honest. even though the recipes look well written, most of them aren’t great for the at-home chef.

It’s not that they’re hard, tho some ingredients might be hard to source in some areas? It’s just that a decent number of these recipes work best on those more professional set ups, or need a specialized mold or tool.

HOWEVER! If you want to know what kinds of street food you’ll find in Japan and what typically goes into them? OMG, so much information! If it’s a festival food, there’s notes on when and where the festival is celebrated. If it’s a regional food, there’s notes on where to go to find it! (Hiroshima Okonomiyaki, here I come!!!)

So yeah, great information! For both the traveller and the curious anime fan. However, read recipes extra carefully before you jump in to make them.

I keep losing this in my camera roll so I’m putting it here also. Free recipe for the rest of you. ““Mahshi Laban”” aka stuffed zucchini. SUPER tasty. the name is a fucked up splice of two different names for similar dishes though, more accurately would be kousa mahshi
