Here we go, again with some ancient and modern public houses in the Maidstone area. Some might be easy and some maybe hard but a regular ramboler will know most of them.
This pub still exists in a different guise but should be an easy spot, so no clues, except that the lady who lived in the cottage almost opposite used to be Raymond D Wickham’s secretary. For those that don’t know he was awarded the MBE for services to the Apple industry and lived in Brenchley.
Perhaps this might help for those not too sure but as suggested it is now in a somewhat different guise. If it’s not in Capel, then where is it now.

Here’s a view that some of you might’ve seen on the way out of this very popular but a tad expensive gastro pub. From the front it looks a bit different, very upright but the lady’s like it, or so I’ve been told.
One would’ve needed to have travelled off the beaten track to have visited this very popular public house which was once the home of an upmarket cricket team and kept by the infamous Lenny the Leg. Of course things change, cricket clubs get their own clubhouse and bars and landlords come and go but still the pub remains.
So there you have another four easy peasy public houses in the Maidstone area and they all, begin with “C”

Kust nüüd siis alustada..
Seadsime oma värskelt ostetud saanile hääled sisse ja põrutasime Perthist Capeli poole. Elame Ellendale’is ja sõidame iga hommik 20 minutit tööle, et peadpidi viinamarjapõõsastes 8 tundi mööda saata, aga muidu on kõik kenake.
Saime oma fordi eelmisel pühapäeval taiwani naiselt kätte ja olime fingers crossed situatsioonis, et midagi autoga valesti poleks. Tädi ise ostis auto mehhaanikult, kes oli sellele neljase mootori alla putitanud, nii et meie madal valge ford teeb iga pedaalitallamise peale hullemat häält kui traktor, but that’s okay, vähemalt nii kaua kuni teepeale ei jää. Lasime siis sel nädalavahetusel peremehel auto üle vaadata ja selgus, et summutis oli kaks suurt auku, õnneks oli onu nii lahke, et vaatas meie auto üle ja tegi parandusi.
Kuna paar päeva on vahepeal vihma tõttu vabaks antud, siis käisime ka laupäeval tööl ja kui varem panime hullu ja sõitsime 100ga siis eile hüppas meiega samas tempos auto kõrvalt känguru mööda, nii et võtame vähe vaiksemalt. :D
Muidu on tööpäevad päris intensiivsed ja päevad üpris üksluised, 6 hommikul ärkamine-söök-töö 8h-poodi-söök-vaba aeg ja kell 21 max magama, sest uni tuleb juba kl 20 peale. :D
Vanem paar, kes meile ulualust pakub, on äärmiselt pedantsed, meie minimaja (me kutsume seda konteiner-elamuks) oli viimse detailini puhtaks tehtud, ainuke asi mis meid hirmutas olid putukad, mille peale Kaisa ja Reti tolmuimeja välja võtsid ja kell 22 õhtul neid lae alt püüdma hakkasid. Muidugi on selle pisikese majaga muid olmemuresid, näiteks on meil gaasipliit ja no sellega on ka igast pulli olnud, aga muidu oleme Kaisalt korraliku õppetunni saanud, et sellega peab VÄGA ETTEVAATLIK! olema ja me olemegi!
Muidu elame keset lehmi ja lennuvälja, meie tore peremees lendab igapäevaselt oma koduse trike lenduriga ringi, mille peale ma algselt kreepsu sain, aga muidu on meil elu nagu keset tühermaad ikka: leviaugud ja 100 ämblikuvõrku on tavakas.

Eelmisel nädalal käis meie recruitment tädi Anissa üht uut elanikku Ellendale’i toomas. Ma ei tea, mis värk nende aussidega on, aga me olime totaalses hämmingus kui ta selle saksa backpackeri trussasid ja muud pesu nöörile riputas silmagi pilgutamata nagu oleks see täiesti normaalne. No meie muidugi naersime taustal, sest Eestis ei tule elusees töötukassa teenindaja sinu aluspesu lappima - siin on see täiesti fine.
Samuti rääkis tädi Anissa, et meie kui eestlaste kõnepruuk olla ikka räigelt ropp, no ja siis tõi näiteid ja me saime ise paraja kõhutäie naerda, sest kes oleks arvanud, et näiteks PORGAND kõlab nende jaoks nagu poor c*nt, PULMAKOOK pull mah c*ck ja no 12 kuud seda me juba kõik teame eks. Isegi meie pedandist majatädi naeris. :’D
Üldse Capeli jõudes juhtusime esimesel päeval teda poes nägema, uurisime siis Aussi erilise Vegemite kohta, mille peale ta meid endale külla kutsus. Mida tal kodus polnud oli vegemite, küll aga oli tal kaks toredat koera, ent üks neist hästi nuumatud. Muidu oli ka majatäis kilakola, millest üle hüppamiseks oleks kargud vajalikud olnud.
Vahepeal oleme ära käinud ka Bunburys ja uudistanud, mis meie lähedal ägedat olla võiks. Tahaks väga Margaret Riverisse minna, aga ilmad on üsna halvad olnud, nt 16 kraadi. :)))))
Levi on meil üsna olematu ning päevad üsna väsitavad, seega neid blogiposte on nüüd natuke vähem tulemas, aga annan endast parima, et ikka kursis hoida, mis eluolu meil siin on.
Ah jaa, mingi päev käisime Capelis poes ja tahtsime ka natuke raha välja võtta, sest pererahvale tuleb 150AUDi nägu iga nädal raha anda ja kuna me kõik pole veel oma aussi pangakaarti saanud, siis suutis Reti oma pangakaardiga kohaliku automaadi täesti segadusse ajada, nii et see paar päeva out of service oli. :’D
Pühapäeval võtsime siiski vaba päeva ja tegime oma iganädalast grocerie-šopingut ja uudistasime Busseltonis ringi, nägime ka lõpuks ookeani üle ja oh kuidas tahaks juba teisele rannikule.
Aga muidu on väga okei, tööelu nagu ikka ja esimene palk on ukse taga!

A small black and silver Sand Wasp (Fam. Crabronidae) that I spotted exploring a sand bank in Capel, in Australia’s SW corner. Possibly she was looking for a good place to excavate a burrow, but she may have been looking for spiders as well.
There are some 145 described species, although many species, especially in South America have yet to be named. Most species are found in the tropics and Southern Hemisphere, and at least a third of the known species are found in Australia. At least one researcher, in 1916, thought this meant they’d been out-competed by more aggressive wasp species in the Northern Hemisphere, but that’s exactly the kind of bullshit conclusion Eurocentric bias can lead you to.
Pison wasps raise their young on a diet of living but paralysed spiders. While many species construct large mud nests in caves or tree hollows, others use hollow plant stems, beetle burrows, abandoned bird nests, or dig their own tunnels. Typically, multiple spiders-and-egg cells will be placed adjacent to one another, with each cell is sealed off from adjoining eggs with mud or dung pellets. Since a number of species will nest inside artificial structures like keyholes, or holes in wood, a few have been widely dispersed by humans.
