hey jjk watchers does anybody not feel particularly fond of the newest opening?
YALL HAVE TO HEAR ME OUT so ive been online lately and ive been getting lots of jjk content on my feed, most of which having Aizo in the video somewhere. i finally got around to watching it with my mom and i found the intro to be off. i went on reddit to see if anyone agreed but everyone loves it. i have a few reasons to dislike it. also spoilers if you’re not on season three
1. i feel like Aizo wont fit the vibes of the season. obviously season three is going to be rough, with everyone trying to kill yuji. i feel like it’s too jumpy to fit the dark themes
2. honestly you really cant beat Specialz 😭 but even if you cant, the new opening compared to Ao No Sumika is sort of ehh. Ao No Sumika and Specialz both did an amazing job of fitting that seasons vibes.
3. the animation that goes along with Aizo also doesnt fit. the vibes i got were pretty dark, not gloomy but intense. i feel like Aizo doesnt do the animation justice
4. it sort of jumps right into the catchy part. with other songs of King Gnu’s like Ao No Sumika, it starts out with a bit of a rhythm, like a good beat, and then gets into the really catchy part that really makes it memorable. when the first line was “Aizou, aizou uzumaite!” it threw me off
NOT TO SAY I DONT LOVE KING GNU HES VERY TALENTED but maybe im not qualified to talk about this because i havent seen the whole show. idk . i dont like it that much. lmk.

“Aizo” is so close to being a perfect song for Kenpachi and Unohana. The only lyrics that really conflict with them are the ones about Tokyo and diplomacy.

AIZO as a song, I’m not sure about yet. But I didn’t like SPECIALZ off the bat, and turns out, the released snippet was the least fun section of the song for me, personally. (I love SPECIALZ, god it’s so good I could cry). I know there’s a little bit of AIZO in the trailer for s3, but my hearing issues will not let me pick it out properly
im excited. I think the lyrics we do know fit culling games. And I liked king gnus previous songs. And while I can’t say anything about the actual lyrics (no Japanese knowledge) but the meaning behind their lyrics always fits the themes they’re going for
can’t judge off a snippet is my take. apparently people are already doing so, but that’s people for you. Most likely, this is the intro. I hope the next intro and outros are bangers that make me want to rip my heart out

This whole mv and the song talk abt their relationship with each other. And just… the roller coaster of emotions a 3 minute song is able to evoke 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Ok but i absolutely broke when it showed how the two brothers found ppl to rely on. Im so glad that they did. Id hate to see them just be alone KNOWING THEY HAD A BROTHER THEY COULD RELY ON but not. Like BLESS, Ken realized that he doesn’t need all these random girls to make him happy and all he needs is that special someone that he managed to find in Arisa-chan. And then Aizou managed to find Yujiro and could share his passion for music and singing with.

And in the end after the boys find the ppl that they can rely on and find happiness with, they slowly begin to go back to each other and build their sibling relationship back up!
I love the whole concept of honeyworks and being told stories through songs. Its much more beautiful to see and hear the hardships and to witness the ways that the characters overcome those hardships all through song and supporting visuals. It’s also more exciting because you see these characters and then watch more mv’s and realize the mv’s are telling an actual story.

The Shibasaki Brothers
How am I not realize until the latest Honeyworks MV that Shibaken and Aizo are brothers!?
I noticed that Aizo has oniichan from Yappa Saikyou and Yume Fanfare MV, but really really didn’t noticed it was Shibaken.
Even though I knew Shibaken comes from Shibasaki Ken, and Aizo’s family name was Shibasaki, somehow I couldn’t connect them. Ha ha
On the movie Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo, there was a scene when Shibaken, Kotaro, Kodai, Arisa and Hina hang out at Honey Wild Burger, LIP×LIP song played on CHiCO and Sana radio but Shibaken just playing around on his phone and doesn’t seem to interest much in mentioning his little brother.
Well, but that’s just how he is, right?
When I saw Aizo on Shibaken-Arisa story, I was kind of taken aback. Lol.
I thought I was just mistaken. But yeah, that’s definitely Aizo.
I hope there will be more anime version of this HoneyWorks universe. There are still a lot more story can be told in a movie or anime TV form. That would be fuuunn (´▽`ʃƪ)♡
