The world is filled with very talented artists. Illustrators, writers, musicians, but I can’t help but think about all the artists who never get the chance to have their ideas shared. Because of where they were born. People in the US or Japan get to tell their stories often, not all of them but many. Because the entertainment industries in these countries are very big, and the stories made there are shared worldwide and known by many.
Imagine if the idea for chainsaw man was created by someone living in say, Chile. Would they have been able to publish a full series of books for it? Would it have been nearly as widespread and popular? So many of the best things have humble begginings. Imagine all of the stories you would have loved that either never got made or never reached your eyes. Sad!
So I encourage you to engage with art made outside your country. You may find your new favorite thing!

i think it’s beautiful that cats eat you if you die in your apartment and nobody finds you for a while. i don’t know why it’s used as anti-kitty cat propaganda as if eating you means they don’t love u. if i died and no one found me for a while i would want my kitty cat to eat me bc i love her so much and i don’t want her to starve. it’s not her fault i’m too dead to give her her fancy feasts. she’s going thru something scary ok. i don’t know a single cat owner who doesn’t feel the same way

it really is interesting how most adults really only see child sexual assault through the lens of how it makes THEM feel. it’s not really about the actual harm that comes to the children, it’s about how they, the adult (the real victim) feels about the fact that a child or children got abused and taken advantage of.
like one time I saw a vid of some dudes who tricked some guys into thinking they were going to meet up with minors, instead they forced the two dudes to fight on camera. it’s voyeurism, it’s not about protecting children it’s about the good feeling YOU, the viewer, get inside when you watch this happen.
or like I was arguing with some people about CSA being punishable by death. i don’t care if child abusers die, let me say that. wouldn’t care if they all killed themselves to a person. but there is a REASON child advocacy organizations will tell you that executing convicted pedophiles is a bad idea, and that’s because it will lead to more children being killed to hide the crimes of the abuser.
But if you argue against THE STATE executing pedophiles, people start pulling the “ohhhh wow defending pedophiles. this the hill you wanna die on?” like no dude I just think about the effects of policy outside of the fucking feel-good yummies in my tummy I get from seeing someone I don’t like punished.

the drama on trans twitter rn is that a trans man has a trans girl oc who doesnt pass and is pre-hrt, and all the twitter tirfs are calling them transphobic and nasty for making a “characature” of a trans woman. this person also has an oc in the same story who is a also a trans woman who passes very well and is very feminine, and its clear the younger trans girl looks up to her, but conveniently everyone ignores this other character who isnt “clocky”
and all I can think is how sorry I feel for pre-hrt or non-passing trans girls who see this drama, see other trans women saying awful things about this character’s small hips or her flat chest or broad shoulders or her height. how that makes her a characature and a transphobic hate symbol. and i just feel bad !!!! depictions of trans people who dont pass are important! those people exist and deserve love and representation!!!!

-“don’t touch the hot stove” rules that are for your own safety but don’t really hurt anyone else of you break them
-“don’t text and drive” rules that endanger you and others, important to follow
-“park closed after dusk” rules that as long as youre not being stupid, hurt nobody to break

Hey so as the economy continues to get worse in the next few years, gambling companies are going to go extra hardcore predatory as people become more desperate. Yes, even more than they already are. You have to promise me right now you’re not going to fall for it. No gambling, okay?
This is going to be especially bad with prediction markets and sports gambling, and it’s already really fucking bad. But it also goes for loot boxes, blind box collectables, trading card games, and ESPECIALLY gacha games.
