My wild Chapter 5 speculation is that there will be a flower impostor that’s colored pink.

I was checking the Bibliox Spellcheck ACTs, and wanted to make my predictions for where “GALLERY”, “ROOTS”, “SYNTHESIS”, and “AMPHITHEATER” will appear.

DELTARUNE “COPYFISH” THEORY: GONER UNDYNE in CHAPTER 5

There is one topic in regards to the Manhole Dungeon in the Sword Route that I haven’t seen people give much thought over.
Thanks to the Flower Man prophecy hidden in the Third Sanctuary in Chapter 4, we know that Asgore will somehow wind up to become the main boss of Chapter 5. And given that there is a room in the Sword Route where we get to battle a yellow monster, along with seven flowers, I think it is safe to predict that the entirety of the Manhole Dungeon could be serving as foreshadowing for one of the final areas of Chapter 5.

If that’s the case, then what could the room with the gray fish and the four yellow lizards represent? It can be deduced who they are meant to be, which is Alphys and Undyne. But how could Undyne be in Flower World if she was kidnapped by the Roaring Knight at the end of Chapter 3? And most importantly…

With the information we have been provided thanks to the unused Chapter 3 Glass dialogue, and the Caller informing Kris during their and Susie’s investigation at Noelle’s House about something in regards to the police, and a sacrifice happening in the following week, it can be presumed that Undyne would be too busy “catching a little cold” in the Shelter to make an appearance in Chapter 5.

So how can it be? How could Undyne possibly reappear in the next adventure?
Well… remember how in MANCOUNTRY (Chapter 3’s Egg Room) there is this one member of the Seven Flying Aces that tells us how “COPIES ARE MONOCHROME”? With another Rudinn even suggesting that we should “PHOTOCOPY A KRIS TO PLAY WITH US [Flying Aces]”.

Doesn’t that remind you of something?
What else is monochrome, and is considered a copy of a different character?
A Goner.

Those gray characters that appear in UNDERTALE, who all resemble other NPCs. With three of them being followers of the former Royal Scientist, Doctor W.D Gaster.
Thanks to the console-exclusive Goner Clam Girl NPC encounter, we know Goners are also capable of masquerading as the normal versions of themselves.

With all that in mind, among other weird things, such as the Striped Bird NPC’s (A.K.A Gaster Follower 3) speech that gets progressively more broken, or it even telling to not wait for Onion at the Lake in Chapter 4, it is plausible to imagine that we could see Goners make their debut in DELTARUNE sooner than Chapter 6+7.
To have Undyne return in Chapter 5, and then have all that hope stripped away from our characters as she is later revealed to be an impostor, I think would make for a very good twist.
What if the Gray Fish in Sword Route’s Manhole Dungeon is foreshadowing for a boss fight in Chapter 5 against Goner Undyne?

From what I’ve seen, it appears that the most accepted answer in the community to Man’s identity is that he is the DELTARUNE counterpart to Gaster. An art therapist that vanished as a result of his royal scientist self’s presence in that world. But there is another idea I’d like to propose.

As we know, Goners/Gaster’s Followers are gray versions of other NPCs found both in UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE. What’s strange is, there is one monochrome character that doesn’t have a counterpart as of yet. Mystery Man.

Most assume he is the real Gaster, but… what if it was a little more complicated than that? If copies are all monochrome, what if he is also a Goner?

Something that comes to my mind are the similiarities between Forgotten Man and Mystery Man. Men found in rooms between, with ties to W.D. Gaster, who disappear after being interacted with. It makes me wonder… what if those aren’t coincidences? What if they are the same character?

But if Forgotten Man is the Mystery Man sprite, then that makes him monochrome. And since monochrome characters are copies… Forgotten Man would be a Goner.
If that’s the case, who could be his counterpart?
Well…

Gaster is a man that’s said to have shattered across time and space. He disappeared from the world without a trace. And the world kept functioning exactly the same… except he no longer exists. He’s a forgotten man.
What if the Man Behind the Tree is Goner Gaster?
