The Marquis was away on an excursion so just Lestat and I were home. When he was away, it was the only time I dared to hum or even softly sing a tune. I found much joy in music, but my husband did not, Mon Dieu!

This particular day that I remember started off with chores, and I was humming. LESTAT STARTED TO HUM WITH ME! Before I knew it, we were dancing a waltz together around the livingroom, laughing, without a care. I had no idea he was so graceful, he was only a mere 8 or 9 of age!
