yayy technobots!!

not much to say since i already liked their g1 designs so i mainly played with their shapes. on g1: i think their toys all being noticeably different hues (even the red ones) is soo funny. its like someone told them to come to work dressed to a theme but they didnt check in with each other so their outfits are only vaguely cohesive. and then they just lived with it. like they dont have Thattt much team pride. lifted that because i think that image is absurdly endearing

a Lot is pulled from the craftsman toys because i have lightspeed and strafe and theyre both soooo cute. for afterburner though i took a bit from his idw2 design and with nosecone i kinda liked his earth wars design so i just stole his helm. crazy coincidence that his and afterburners helms still look really similar innit

Anyway the ep is actually about Marissa and the technobots dealing with this sleazy smuggler guy, who’s cut a deal with the quintessons.

He starts hitting on Faireborn really hard in this pretty sleazy way and while she’s mostly too smart for that she falls for it a little.

He starts smarming her, and fortunately she catches him calling the Quints and preparing to double cross them. Unfortunately he knocks her out by pushing her into a cactus. What.

And then he has the AUDACITY to be upset when nobody trusts him. Like dude. Seriously?

I mean, who would be stupid enough to keep repeatedly trusting someone after they stabbed them in the back over and over (gives Megsy a gigantic Starscream flavored side-eye)

And the Quints are basically blackmailing the Terrorcons into working with them with torture. Because the Quintessons entire purpose I am convinced is to make the cons look more sympathetic by comparison.

The Resident Douche goes full Homme Fatale on Marissa, making out with her so he can steal her gun. Asshole. I hope the cons step on him.

But “Oh no he was just lying so he could pull a triple cross and save the bots” yeah his excuse is “you’re a bad actor Faireborn” bullshit you’ve ever seen her act before a-hole.

And I think they’re trying to play it off as some kind of cute romance but I just want this human douche off my screen. Cute alien robot boys>sleazy human a-holes.

And Marissa fortunately finally stabs him in the back in return. Hooray! Well that was a weird episode. Needed more Transformers.

the technobots do have a book club together (is it a book club if the only members are your own teammates?) but it remains divisive as nosecone refuses to read anything fictional, lightspeed doesn’t finish the books he reads, afterburner doesn’t even show up to the club meetings (they all have the same schedule! where is he??) scattershot is acting way too high and mighty about his interpretation of the book and is threatening to demote others over them and strafe is the only normal book reader in the room.

Imagine this you were just born and ur father is a fucking genius who just constructed you, he then tells you that you will have to lead your siblings he guides you to defeat a danger the danger you were made to help with and he sacrifices his intelligence for it by giving it to you and your siblings.
