We made some good progress today on the art comm we’re in the middle of (and are suuuuper behind on, the client has been incredibly patient).
We also managed to make food.
We weren’t able to stream because we had a seizure. But considering we also had a killer migraine all day to the point we actually took OTC meds for it, I’m quite proud of us. We did good.
Like, doing we try to remind ourself that our best is enough. But it’s easier when we’re able to do anything.
It’s harder on bad days where we can only lay in bed. But at least we lived. It wasn’t pretty, but we survived.

Amid the deaths of Simply Plural and Octocon, I’m seeing a lot of people making their own platforms! That’s awesome!
However, I am rather concerned about the amount of *single* or small-group developers coming forward about this. I fear that this might just be the exact issue both previous apps had that may have contributed to their downfall. You can work alone all you’d like, that’s not my issue, but… it may be far easier to get a group of people you can trust to collaborate on such projects in the long term. You can all contribute to potential costs, you have a backup plan and people to lend the app towards should anything go wrong that hinders development. I understand there’s a lot of costs that may go into collecting a full team, even if they’re considered volunteers. I understand they’d have to be trusted with potentially sensitive information of many, many users should things become successful. But please, if you can avoid it, if you can gather up multiple people you genuinely trust with the future of your upcoming platforms… it may help you with the risk of burnout. A lot of these new developers are going into things with their own mental health and life-related issues, I don’t want to run the risk of jumping ship off of SP or Octo onto a platform that could die out just as fast if not faster. We need stable options if we’re going to get through this.
I’ve watched SP develop since September 2021. I’ve alpha tested for them through their official APKs, I’d say I’m a relatively seasoned bug-catcher for the app. I wasn’t as close with Octocon, I probably won’t be as close with another place in the future. I don’t want the same disasters to strike anybody else.

[[MORE]]Max (Great Dane #817): it was difficult to choose between this pet and seal #2284!! we associate max with both seals and dogs very much. the great dane has actually been our lps mascot for a while now and we werent sure if it represented us collectively or just max as the host. for now, well say that the great dane works best because of the mix of brown with the blue eyes and the star shine!
Saturn (Bat #1680): we associate saturn with bats and crows, flying creatures associated with the night. the moons and stars on the wings is what really makes connects it to this design here! we are collectively an astronomy nerd, and saturn is our headmate that relentlessly seeks knowledge
Moxie (Shark #3560): moxie is an introject of vox from hazbin hotel, so we associate him w sharks. it also fits his personality, trying to be the biggest and strongest in the system… this pet fit the most because of the colors but also the visible gills
Axis (Caterpiller #1581): was heavily debating between this one and fox g7 #293, which is a beautiful design with some small spiral patterns. we associate axis w both foxes and centipedes, but mostly centipedes for their many legs and unnerving nature. axis is an introject of michael from the magnus archives and has associates with infinity, and the caterpiller pets are the closest we can get to centipedes/millipedes… also the colors are AMAZING, the shade of pink is perfect but all of the spots and patterns reflect it so well
Mary (Lamb #549): mary is our core, so we were debating choosing a pet that was a childhood favorite, but we went with a lamb because we really associate them with sheep the most and this one was the best. the purple is very fitting
Eirwen (Rabbit #737): eirwen is an introject of ethan winters from resident evil, who is undead. we associate eirwen with rabbits and deer, which are typical roadkill, but also prey animals that we personally associate with resiliance and survival instincts. we liked the soft, natural colors of this rabbit and the flower patterns as a nod to plants.. which in eirwens case is mold but we dont have to talk about that
Poppy (German Shepherd #7-432): poppy identifies as a werewolf and we felt that the pet had to be some sort of dog. this one ended up being perfect due to the natural colors and heart shine, a nod to her affection for lovecore
Joey (Skunk #961): joey is an introject of joker / john doe from batman telltale! something about skunks and badgers are kind of punk to us so we associate joey with them. we like the eyeshadow on this pet, not necessarily clown makeup but still cool :) the purple w green colors is nice

Yeah sorry guys but you won’t change how i me and myself think about my own system. If you REALLY want a non host alter to say it, sorry but not everyone shares the same sentiment. I think my host is more important in the sense that I don’t front as often than them and therefore serve a less important purpose. Not that my purpose isn’t important, just less important for day to day function. but sorry! Im not as important as my host ici. And thats okay… im okay with that. I know Ici still cares for me. They aren’t treating “importance” as “you’re less as human” theyre saying “this part of my identity is not as important to recover and integrate than this other part which impacts my day to day life it should probably take priority”

This isn’t ableism, quantifying the importance and hierarchy has actually considerably helped me recover which memories are important to recover and which might be less necessary for day to day functioning. Functioning day to day is just. Simply more important than my memories of my inseam or shoe size or what F sharp on a flute looks like or whatever.
