Releasing the Sigil
Tonight I created my first sigil.
Not for control.
Not for revenge.
But for protection and return.
The intention was simple:
My peace is protected. My energy returns to me.
After removing the vowels and the repeating letters, the phrase reduced down to its bones:
M P C S R T D N G
I let the letters merge together until they became a single symbol — a quiet mark holding a loud truth.
Then came the part that felt the most sacred.
I folded the paper toward myself, again and again, making it smaller each time. Each fold felt like I was pulling my energy back home — reclaiming pieces of myself that had been scattered through arguments, expectations, and emotional labor.
When it was small enough, I lit the edge of the paper with the self-love candle that was already burning on my altar.
The pink flame caught the paper slowly.
I placed it in my fire-safe charcoal holder and watched it burn away.
No rushing.
No forcing.
Just letting the symbol release into the fire.
Ash replacing paper.
Intention replacing emotion.
Beside the flame stood Santísima Muerte — quiet, watchful, patient like she always is. The altar smelled like rose, lavender, jasmine, and calendula while the smoke curled upward.
I didn’t ask for anything complicated.
Just alignment.
Just protection over my peace.
Just the return of my own energy.
Sigils don’t shout.
They work beneath the surface.
They begin as words, become symbols, and then dissolve into the elements so the intention can move freely.
By the time the paper turned to ash, I felt the shift.
Not dramatic.
Not explosive.
Just a calm knowing settling into my chest.
The boundary was already spoken earlier today.
The sigil simply sealed it.
My peace stands where it belongs.
And whatever energy was taken from me…
is finding its way back home.

When Love Meets Boundaries
Tonight was one of those nights where love and truth had to sit at the same table.
Not the kind of conversation where you pretend everything is fine.
Not the kind where emotions explode and nothing gets solved.
Just honesty.
He apologized.
He said he was stressed.
He said he needed help.
And for the first time in a long time, I didn’t abandon myself to comfort someone who had been hurting me.
I spoke calmly.
I spoke clearly.
I spoke from the part of me that has been slowly returning to herself.
The woman who no longer confuses love with sacrifice.
I told him something that has been living quietly inside my chest for weeks now:
I will not carry the weight of both of us.
Not financially.
Not emotionally.
Not spiritually.
That is not what partnership is.
Love should feel like two people building something together, not one person trying to hold the roof up while the other is still deciding if they want to stay in the house.
And yet… even after all of that truth… I still told him something else.
I told him I love him.
Not because I am weak.
Not because I am afraid to lose him.
But because my love is real — and I refuse to let pain turn my heart cold.
Love and boundaries can exist in the same sentence.
That is something I am finally learning.
The conversation ended quietly.
Not perfectly resolved.
Not magically healed.
Just… calmer.
He said he hears me.
Maybe he does.
Maybe he doesn’t yet.
But tonight I realized something important.
I am no longer chasing understanding.
I am observing behavior.
Because words are easy when emotions are high.
But truth always reveals itself in what someone does next.
And as I sat there processing everything, I looked at my phone.

A small reminder from the universe to stay aligned with the version of myself that I am becoming.
Not the woman who overextends herself for love.
But the woman who can say:
I love you.
And I love myself enough to stand in my truth.

Silence Is Also an Answer
The argument didn’t end with shouting.
It ended with silence.
After I set my boundary again — no more calling or texting me only when you need something, no more telling me what to do — he kept pushing anyway. Small requests turning into more requests, the same pattern I’ve watched for years.
When I said no, the pressure came again.
Then the messages.
Small paragraphs.
More words.
More reactions waiting to be pulled out of me.
I saw the notifications. I saw the last line when I glanced at the screen:
“IGNORE ME FOR LIFE THEN.”
I marked the message as read and deleted it without opening the paragraphs before it.
For once, I didn’t need to know what he said.
Because I already know the pattern.
And I’m sure somewhere in those paragraphs were words meant to pull me back into the same cycle — words that may or may not hurt me, words that would have started another argument that never actually fixes anything.
Today I chose not to participate.
For years I was the one writing the paragraphs.
Trying to explain how I felt.
Trying to be understood.
And many times those words were ignored.
I was always the one left with the last word — speaking into silence, hoping something would land.
This time I gave him the silence instead.
Not out of spite.
But because I’m tired of conversations that go nowhere.
He probably thinks he won the argument because I stopped responding.
But the truth is simpler than that.
I have nothing left to say.
He feeds off reactions.
I’ve already called out the contradictions.
I’ve already pointed out the dishonesty.
I’ve already watched promises turn into excuses and plans that never follow through.
At some point repeating the same truth becomes exhausting.
So today I did something different.
It was only two hours into starting my day.
I wasn’t about to ruin the rest of it arguing over something I already made clear.
A boundary isn’t something you debate over and over.
A boundary is something you hold.
So I turned on Do Not Disturb, went about my day, and let him say whatever he needed to say to a silence he isn’t used to sitting with.
For once, I’m not carrying the emotional weight of the conversation.
If he needs the last word, he can have it.
I’m done arguing with someone who isn’t even here.
And for the first time in a long time, my peace didn’t depend on being understood.
It depended on knowing when to stop explaining.
