I spend a little bit TOO long doing little else but slaying Ghouls. But the karma is good! And after taking a left turn on the wrong street, we collect some scales, water, spells and ice so I can progress!

Gear recovered even if it did come with a side of bullets, thankfully the ambushers were poorly equipped and were quickly dealt with. Now equipped Xan and Jake head deeper into the Barrens in search of the Halloweener’s gang.

With our friends in tow, it’s time to hit up the Dark Blade Club. What’s that club? Just a place where mages, samurai and a freakin’ vampire chill out and presumably drink blood. You know, the usual.
Sparrow, Ork Adept and Clubber (Shadowrun Character, Revised)
So, as WordPress has decided to destroy the formatting on the original post for Sparrow (as you can see here) and as she has shown up as supporting cast in a few games, I thought it was time to revisit her wruteup. While Sparrow was a character I had in the background of my Shadowrun campaign and in the back of my mind. Then she was fully fleshed out, with a background short story, for RPGGeek‘s…

Heading out into the Redmond Barrow district of Seattle with Jake, looking for the Halloweener’s, first however Jake needs to recover his gear that he stashed nearby, seems simple enough.

This is Will, my Shadowrun character. He’s a decker. They have an overactive immune system so he has a cochlear implant (not his choice, doesn’t work well) and that’s it. He’s added electrodes for their cyberdeck and a set of enhancing lenses to it.
Been reading through Augment (the shadowrun magazine) and this bit from the rumours/gossip section really caught my eye

I mean, come on, a top-of-the-line hacker has a bit too close of a call on a run, starts re-evaluating what they’re doing with their life and finds that an A.I that’s also working in the shadows is actually a really lovely being and they fall in love? That’s such a sweet love story, right? 😍
I mean sure, the AI might actually have ‘jacked their hardware and be controlling them - but that’s just the same technophobia that claimed technomancers were all puppets of genocidal digital intelligences that were going to take over the world gosh darn it! Let the lovely couple be happy!
While looking to clear out the docks we run into an animal spirit. My animal spirit. Always pictured mine being a squirrel, but dogs are good. And it puts me on a side quest to slay rats in a sewer level.
Shadowrun Returns - Xanthoula Harris - Full Playthrough (No Commentary)
Shadowrun Returns follows Xan, an Elf corporate-academic mage turned shadowrunner, who is pulled back into the shadows when she receives a Dead Man’s Switch message from her old friend Sam Watts, sending her to Seattle to uncover the truth behind his murder by the Emerald City Ripper. Her investigation leads her through the grim streets of Redmond, the chaotic warmth of the Seamstresses Union, and the dangerous underbelly of the city as she rescues the fearless Coyote, teams up with spirit-talker Shannon Half-Sky, and dives into the Matrix to unravel a conspiracy far bigger than a serial killer. What begins as a hunt for Sam’s murderer spirals into a battle against the Universal Brotherhood, a cult fronting for an otherworldly insect-spirit invasion led by Sam’s own sister Jessica and the corrupted Lynne Telestrian. With prototype Aegis weapons, a mismatched team of runners, and sheer determination, Xan infiltrates hives, corporate fortresses, and twisted mental hospitals, fighting through blood, bone, and bile to stop the coming incursion and confront the horrors waiting deep within the Brotherhood’s hive-like lair.

So I started playing shadowrun a few months back and damn, I have never made such a seriously tought trough character in my entire life and this is the least serious campaign I have ever been in.
Don’t get me wrong, I ridiculously enjoy it, but it’s kind of funny, how I might die pretty early into the game because a level 1 ghoul with a lucky ass agility throw might kill me because I got a glitch on a saving throw for getting infected…
I learned the rules of a full extention just to play a Technomancer, so I better survive because I just got the hang of my abilities.
