combotober Day 4: Your Guilty Gear Main
It’s I-No! (I-No is a Mishima.) Rev2 is so fun! Movement in Rev2 feels so good, just so much zooming around. I-No’s kit might be more satisfying here than in any other Guilty Gear game. #Rev2Forev2 I should play more Rev2 and also more KI and perhaps also more vsav. Right after I get really good at Virtua Fighter. The problem with fighting games is there are so many good ones. ANYWAY.

⠀ | ⠀⠀hmm alex hiring tatum and her team to kidnap claire and moira at the start of rev 2…. high risk enough to satiate her as an adrenaline junkie considering she doesnt do as much work anymore since umbrella went tits up. don’t doubt they become mercs after they lose their main source of work n end up working for any company/person that needs dirty work doing and want no way to trace it back to them.

thinking about the lore i made up for my interpretation of v2 again. now with the added lore violence revealed. spoilers ahead beware
[[MORE]]v2 doesnt truly know what the world was like before, having been created during the new peace. 200 years of war ravaged the earth to the point the sky had been blotted out, and a landscape without the corpses of giant machines littered across it is an alien concept. it knows in theory, having learned what info was accessible to it, but it’s not the same as living it. the earth was scorched, depleted, and only comparatively recently was given the chance to recover. it’s a tool to be used, and its security uses fell through when more cost effective options had already been available, but there was still a mistrust of it. it was built upon a terribly effective machine of war after all, the very sort of thing that put humanity into a centuries-long downward spiral and took everything with it. its connection with its makers was superficial at best, and it never realizes the full extent until theyre all gone, if it ever got the chance to at all.
it also doesnt know all that much about the earliest generations of war machines, like the guttermen (or at least in a scenario where v2 lives, it doesnt until it passes through violence for the first time.) it didnt know that they couldnt keep blood fresh on their own, it didnt know that they had living beings trapped within them, often unwillingly. it would be disgusted by this, by those who had put the practice in place, and would definitely change the way it views humanity, knowing the extent of willful cruelty its creators could be capable of.
v2 lived in a somewhat sheltered world for much of its early life, it did not know the cruelty that the war created, it did not know of the full extent of the catastrophe that proceeded its existence, it only saw the pieces being picked up. it was naïve. terrible things had happened, but now theyre being fixed, werent they? this worldview didnt start to fully crack apart until it was left in hell during the expedition evacuations.
