messing around w reshade again…
bwahhhh I dunno what im doing tbh
I’m fairly knowledgeable with Reshade and Relight (I make/share my own presets for the XIV community), but I’m running into an issue with Relight in the Sims. I thought it was MXAO causing it so I switched to Monocular Cues, but it is specifically iMMERSE/Quint Relights.
Here is how the preset I’m making right now looks with Relight. Note the transparent edges.

Turning them off results results in no transparent edges.

Here are my settings for both Relight shaders!
Anyone familiar with how Relight works in TS4 and how to remove the transparent edges?

So basically all reshade/g-shade presets won’t work on my game. I’ve tried using old reshade, to the newest upgrades and it always gives me the prompt of a bunch of effects not compilling. And most of presets with have this weird “ghost effect”

I tried going back to reshade 3.0.8 because that never gave me trouble, but it won’t install anymore (I guess Sims 4 is too updated for this old version).
Anyone know what I can do to make it work? The reason I’m barely posting here is because I simply can’t enjoy taking screenshots if there’s no reshade.

Started a new playthrough of Fallout 4. I never finished it the first time I played it, and I feel like I didn’t fully get immersed in it last time. So, for this playthrough I modded it to feel closer to something in the Stalker vein. Bleak daytime, darker nights & interiors, and an overall feeling of what I would expect the post-apocalyptic American wasteland to look like. I’m not much of a “realism” player, but included I’ve included mods that focus on making your character move better and damage is more realistic, both ways. Your flashlight feels necessary, and traveling at night feels dangerous.
I plan on capturing more screenshots as I play though it, find them here on my flickr.

Marty has 2 new Depth of Field shaders coming out soon.
Top is the version that is an addon, and only works with the various camera tools that Otis makes. If you’ve used Otis’ IGCSDoF before, it’s like that, but does some really cool and new interesting stuff with progressive rendering and so on.
Bottom is his total rewrite of his regular Marty’s Mods DoF (which comes with the iMMERSE Pro pack). One of the things regular DoF shaders struggle with is near blur. Usually you get really awkward edges of things where they are meant to be blurred and the background behind them is meant to be in focus. Blurred objects should generally fall off into transparency, but regular DoF shaders don’t know what’s behind the objects that are being blurred, so that transparency can’t happen.
Until now. Marty found a way, by basically using really impressive and fancy maths stuff to recreate the background. You can see in the bottom picture the top of the stair rail has a transparent edge, just like in the top picture.
This is kind of revolutionary, state of the art stuff.
Anyway, the update will be coming soonish. He’s still working out the kinks with the new shader DoF. But I’ve got my hands on it and it’s really nice. I think you’re all going to like it.
I’ll try and get some better pictures over the next few days that puts both versions of DoF through their paces.

Hello! Today I want to share with you my new GShade preset.
After a long time messing around with GShade settings, I finally found something cute and cozy.
I know, yeah… I’ve disappeared for a long time, but I’m still alive—at least physically, haha. T_T
I also added a stream-friendly version, just in case. This GShade is more focused on taking pictures, while the stream version is a little softer and more PC-friendly. Of course, if you have a powerful machine, you don’t need to worry (crying in poverty).
Thank you so much for your support, and happy simming! 🌿✨
