In case nobody told you this today,

You’re doing great and I’m proud of you. Regardless of what you have accomplished today. Whether it’s just getting up in the morning or finishing a task for school or work, that’s progress and I’m proud of you. ♡

Now we’re getting somewhere! Do you remember that this was my spring 2022 One Room Challenge that was supposed to take 6 weeks? And now the fall challenge is in full swing and I’m over here, like WAIT!! Sigh.

This room was a weird walk-in closet for one bedroom (second pic) that I decided would be better as a jack and Jill bathroom between two bedrooms. So, no matter how long it has been, the outcome will be worth it as it just makes more sense and is just more practical. (And don’t worry, I created a new closet in that bedroom, so it’s all good.)

Wallpaper really does change everything, don’t you think?

5 years ago today I did my first ever tattoo on someone other than myself.

I was absolutely terrified and it took me aaaagggeess! It’s also awful but she won’t let me fix it 😂

Next to it is my most recent piece. It’s so nice to see the difference that 5 years makes and that my flowers have improved a bit!

✨ How it started Vs How it’s going ✨

The pocket watch on the left was done in 2017 during my apprenticeship. I remember being pretty proud of it at the time. I really liked getting the different reflections and shine on it.

Roll on 4 years to the compass on the right. Again, I’m proud of this one and liked it for the same reasons I liked the first one.

Day to day it feels like nothing changes, and you’re making no improvements. I remember feeling like I “peaked too soon” and got better in a short space of time, and then just stopped and plateaued. But it’s only when you stop and take a look back at where you started, do you realise how far you’ve come.
Don’t stop striving towards your goals, even if you feel like it’ll never happen. One day you might reach them 💕

Consistent daily progress is more important than irregular bursts of productivity.

Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Take enough rest and make incremental progress every day.

To bring order to others, one must first order self…
In every aspect of our lives.
What food we eat
Our quality and quantity of sleep
Our relationships and careers
Facing our own demons
Understanding and healing our traumas and triggers.
The list goes on….

That being said. Progress (not completion, not mastery) no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, will undoubtedly restore order to a certain degree.

Some days it might feel like you’re not making any progress at all. But the fact that you wake up every morning, IS progress. Awareness (of what it is that you want to improve) is progress. The knowledge of the things you can implement (to improve and heal and grow) IS progress.
