how did pride & prejudice & zombies become a comfort movie to me so quickly. i was in the middle before i knew i’d begun. pretty much immediately. like i watched in once and then immediately watched it again and it always makes me happy and is it a very faITHFUL adaptation? no but i don’t care i love it and i love ppz lizzie and i ADORE ppz darcy and its fun and dark and one of my fav movies now i don’t care i don’t care

Btw, where did y’all find the „wet PPZ!Darcy meets Lizzie, like he did in PP95“ because I remember this scene was also cut but it is not on my DVD? At least not on my German edition? 🤔

One thing I want to see in future PP adaptations, is Lizzie getting so angry at Darcy when she finds out he boycotted the wedding of Bingley and Jane, is angrily throwing stuff at him. Absolutly amazing.

Say what you want about PPZ but this movie completely nails how - in the middle of a conversation- Darcy suddenly makes random comments how beautiful he thinks Lizzie is, and how glorious her eyes etc
And everyone just looks at him: „dude wtf?!“

pride and prejudice and zombies (2016) is a top tier adaption because you can see how genuinely darcy believes he and lizzy have been flirting this whole time up to the first proposal scene. the camera stays with him the whole way and lingers on his self-satisfied face as he finishes delivering what is surely the most romantic proposal since shakespeare. and then lizzy rejects him and we get to watch the whole process on his face as he short circuits and reboots.

I miss Pride and Predjudice and Zombies. It was so good and such an awesome take on a classic. Plus, Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy in the movie was brilliant! The casting was fantastic!
