I have a proposal, political candidacy becomes a lottery, every election is between like 10 randomly selected candidates, if they dont wanna, randomly select another until all 10 are willing. Then normal election. Blocking anyone else other than those ten from running. The US election could include an old farmer from Kansas, a young e girl streamer from LA, a fisherman from Alaska, a mom and pop shop owner, a clear scumbag, a hobo, etc. Same goes for each governor (selected from the state), each house member (selected from district).
Parties would instantly become meaningless, everyone has equal budget given by the state. If they dont know what theyre doing, people probably wouldn’t vote for them (theres 9 other options you understand just as well, instead of 1), no cult of personality to get in the way (Trump). Elections wouldn’t be between the elderly anymore. It would easily prevent the current dictatorial actions of the Trump Regime. Because instead of a cult of personality forming around one person and hyper partisanism doing the rest as the one man literally kills opponents in the street, we would have Jerry, who has a niche ish policy plan, that is super different from either of the former parties, aligns with more people than either former party, and won with 80% of the vote after we also switched to ranked choise direct voting abandoning the ancient electoral college in this complete overhaul. Also no more than one term, because every election has 10 random people, and reruning is against that.
