@behind_shapesoffabric does such cool pattern manipulations and has some great instruction booklets as well. I was so excited when they picked my design to base a pattern off of. How cool is this top? Posted @withregram • @behind_shapesoffabric These past few months I’ve been making pieces inspired by designs I got from other people here on Instagram. 😊This cute Rainbow Brite themed design is from @skyleafcreations
I used different elements from the drawing and created this peplum top. It was an excellent opportunity to see if the polyhedron technique would work even with a star shape. And it did! So, I raised the centers of each star to get a 3D look.
I have posted a video earlier on polyhedrons, so just scroll down the feed to find it. With stars it was even easier, as you only have to calculate one “triangle” and then repeat the same shape for the rest of the sections of the star. This works when the stars are symmetrical and you place the highest point exactly in the center.
For the rest, the top has princess seams. I moved the dart towards the side seam first.
The pleated peplum section is attached to the side panel at the waist.
The collar is a basic stand-up collar, but it doesn’t start at the c-front and there’s an opening at the c-back.
Now I’ve got one more design left, so stay tuned for that one! 😊
