Pink Blossoms Remind Me Of You

Pink blossoms glide on the wind

Heartache never pretends

That the kisses you give

Will remember and live

Until the earth stops

And I forever go away

Seconds fly by unrequited

And minutes turn to the end of a day

Your memory holds on to each of my heart beats

But my love for you

Always has something to say

Each calendar is a diary

Each day vanishes into an ethereal space

And no matter how many months go by

All will remember your embarrassing family disgrace

It is clear one’s words can blacken the skies

And darken the days into night

Erase all of compunction

And dissolve all the happiness that is right

The joys one has as pleasure

Will die without fruitful desire

And your life will feel deceitful

Due to those words

That set you on fire

We All Seek These Days

We all seek what used to be

But we cannot find it anymore

Where the sun sat in the same old place

That I once knew before

Those yellow wind blown bedroom curtains

Where through the open window came

A fragrant breeze of yesteryear

Where the outside called my name

I ached for a long walk through the scrub brush with the dog that I called mine

On spring days I named each flower as we traipsed along our way

While those days were like special days

The ones I called devine

Night Jaunt

Tonight looks as if the moon was brushed with silver

And it drips in spots like mercury

In the reflections of a cold running river

The river seems to always give it’s gifts to me

While muskrats swim synchronized past the willow trees

Ducks dream in sleepless waters

But an owl is wide awake

Never absorbed with the silver moon

But the field mouse he might take

Sometimes we fall

And never look away

No fear comes with it

Only the end of future days

We never open our curtains

Just to see the sun

We just want our misery to be over

And our lonely life to be done

The shadows of a cold heart may arise with you

Those are worrisome to sweep away

Never mind those negative conversations with yourself

There is always another day

Close all those bad days behind you

Remember all the good times you have had

The light of goodness is within you

And it is known to take the hating out of sad

Particularly these days were made for you

Never to take away

No one can take your sunshine

It’s always there

Loving is easy when you have not a care

The Day Of Forever Leaving

The willows creak from the soft morning breeze

Reflecting themselves in cool waters as two guardians at ease

The meadow lark tweets in the blue morning haze

I will always miss you my love

In these mornings that at one time turned into days

Where Does The Styx End?

No one knows where the Styx River flows

And is it from there the fishes are good for eating?

Or does the Styx run so swift the fishes stink and float stiff—?

For an adventurous fisherman smells death as fast and fleeting

Some of the sinful humans desire a hard beating

A coin only stops the ghoul who runs the ferry

Take a swig of his wine and make merry

Live for the last moment you dwell

May a good sinful life be ended

A hungry Demon is waiting for you in hell

Never Tell The Truth

Darkness arrives without warning

Secret knowledge can become a scandal

No violations of truth are easy to handle

For emotions spark the shadowed voice of my soul

And I burn as if the world is against me

Still it is the lying hurt that is the blackness of coal

Oil On Razored Tracks

Oil on razored railway tracks

Changed me from undamaged skin to blood

I refuse to mention my whole name

For my red rain became a flood

The white stag handle above the sharp knife blade

Had cut the throats of infidels

Where my sacrifices had laid

Broken like five dollar dolls behind the Family Dollar store

Where my sister gave a customer her first blow job

For ten dollars

And not a penny more.

I Dim Like A Solitary Light Bulb

Lost days advance my melancholia;

Marching like vicious tin soldiers in my brain,

There is nothing to comfort me—

My life is centered on my pain,

Long black silhouettes of fingers,

Grasp at my defeated heart;

And here I am screaming at my deteriorating memories,

When a gray fog cast dark shadows—

I have nothing to remind me of you,

As my happiness is forever torn apart;
