I joined this thing called Omada through my insurance (did it a few years ago when it was brand new and kinda shit, but decided to try it out again since they’ve put more work into it) where I get a bunch of free shit (internet enabled scale, 4G Glucose monitor, and now a GCM) in an attempt of both losing weight and getting my glucose under control while being open with a group of people trying to do the same. Think like Weight Watches, but without the pressure and entirely digital and handled through an app.
So far, it’s gone pretty well. I have a habit of forgetting to take my glucose and received this thing this morning. It’s a continuous glucose monitor. It just hangs out in my arm for the next 2 weeks and monitors my sugars. As you can see by my incredibly refined picture, I’m a tad weirded out by it. Also, I’m not dirty. Just fresh out the shower. LOL.
My sugars are still all over the place (I think it’s mostly because of some of the other meds I’m on), but I’ve lost 3lbs and I’ve just technically started on Sunday (I had taken my weight since Friday when I received the scale). Fucking wild.
This GCM though…it’s just a big needle that hangs out in your arm for the next 2 weeks. I’m not looking forward to needing to take it out.
I mean, thinks are going so well thus far (please sense my sarcasm), what do I have to lose?
