Ariel & The Mermaids

Formed in 1979. In lore, their a highly successful Band from the 1980s that had huge popularity from 1981-1987.
The lead singer and founder is Ariel Kapinski. She grew up in a very religious household, which lead her to sing in her church’s choir at the young age of 4, helping develop her vocal skills early on. She actually formed the band in 1969, along with Emma and Constance when they were children, though as “The Cherry Bombs” since the others weren’t feeling “Aquatic” (Much to Ariel’s Dismay.) The Original members included Velma Peterson, Roy Atkinson, Courtney Watanabe (Emi’s Cousin) , Ginny Field, Presley Lohan, and Gabriel Winters. The others soon grew up, with Constance and Emma remaining in the band. Ginny soon followed along with her Mother, Katrina Peterson, as Ginny is Ariel’s Best Friend. Ariel and Ginny would be the main songwriters of the group with Katrina Being the costume designer and cook.
Ariel soon recruited Emi Nishikawa and Laurie Collins as members for her band. Emi being back up vocals and Pyrotechnics, and Laurie as the main Choreographer. They soon recruited Laurie’s Brother Austin as there Bodyguard. Unfortunately, Laurie had to drop from the band after breaking her leg leading Austin to step in as he was discovered to be a Talented Dancer and Singer.
The Band was soon discovered in 1979 by Robert Whittman, leading him to make a contract with Ariel.
