Estimados agricultores a continuación compartimos información base fundamentada en la charla “Alternativas de manejo integrado del perforador del fruto, por la investigadora asociada a Agrosavia Ana Elizabeth Díaz Montilla.

De acuerdo a esta fuente extraemos para a consulta particular las siguientes recomendaciones:
MANEJO DE PASADOR EN CULTIVO DE LULO Y SOLANACEAS.
CONTROLES PREVIOS.
- Realizar recolección de frutos picados, afectados por la plaga. Orificio de entrada, punto de suberización (cicatrización). Recoger los residuos de poda del cultivo. Disponer en una fosa con Cal.
- Mantener equipos de fumigación en excelente estado y con mantenimiento preventivo, mantener preferiblemente boquillas de cono hueco sin desgaste (es decir que emitan gota fina).
- Dosificar adecuadamente los productos plaguicidas. Utilizar rotación antes que mezcla de insecticidas. Insecticidas de última generación ya vienen en mezcla de componentes. Dependiendo del producto cada dos a tres aplicaciones se hace necesario rotar de producto.
- Mantener limpio lote y perímetro de plantas hospederas (familia de las solanáceas) (mantener arvenses que favorecen el establecimiento de avispas, moscos que parasitan la plaga (que consumen biológicamente al pasador del lulo), mantener el plato de la planta a baja altura de arvenses, deshierbar superficialmente y con cuidado (el sistema de raíces de nutrición del lulos son superficiales y susceptibles a salir dañados.
CONTROL ORGANICO (PREVENTIVO Y DE CONTROL).
Aplicación recomendada producto Iniciador:
Meltdown (De marletti) + Organico a base de Bassiluss thurigiensis (Sugerido: Basilus Sp. de Planta S.A.S.) (ó similares a base de bacteria Bacillus Thuringiensis). Aplicación dirigida a estructuras reproductivas (botones florales, flores y frutos además del envés de las hojas).
RENOVACIÓN Y ROTACIÓN DE PRODUCTOS.
Productos Sugeridos (CHOQUE) :
- Clorantraniliprole + Lambdacihalotrina (Ampligo de ADAMA) Uso extendido para el pasador del lulo pero en cultivos de Tomate. Aplicar máximo en tres aplicaciones. Rotar después de la tercera aplicación.
- Flubendiamide (BELT SC de 480 Bayer)
- Bifentrina (KUNFÚ de INVESA) 16 mL por 20 Litros.
Realizar rotación de al menos dos productos del mismo ingrediente activo sugerido.
Importante evitar insecticidas de contacto de amplio espectro de contacto tipo organofosforados.

Nice and sunny and it actually feels nice out because it wasn’t humid! Look how big the leaves are getting already! Definitely need to build a larger sun screen for it since I found out while researching that they don’t like full sun.

Two fer one! Solanum Quitoense Daily Update,
August 11th and 12th, 2022.
The growth and movement of that baby leaf in the center is really highlighted by seeing two days side by side! First picture is the 11th, second is from today, the 12th!

Day 5 of the Solanum Quitoense daily update!

August 4th, 2022:
My Solanum Quitoense arrived today! Common names include Lulo and Naranjilla, this is one evil-looking plant that will eventually yield delicious fruit :)

The first is a group shot of a container garden, with pepper plants growing on a grassy hill in a variety of DIY containers such as buckets and small recycling bins. The camera is focused on a large black nursery pot that has a black tomato cage stuck in it with camouflage burlap wrapped around the cage, obscuring what’s inside.
The second picture shows a picture of the tomato cage as the camera approaches over the top of the burlap , showing a glimpse of a spiny leaf inside.
The third picture is now peering directly down into the container, with the burlap surrounding the plant inside as the camera looks straight down at it, revealing cedar chip mulch.
The fourth and final image is a zoom in of the plant, showing is has three green, serrated-edged leaves that have large purple spines visible on the tops goin down the center and along each vein. Scene Sunday #54
A purple sky stretched out above her, triangle stars scattered in thick bands between the clouds. She frowned slightly in concentration as she swept a hand upwards, pulling the bands gently until they became a swirl. Much more pleasing.
Satisfied now with the sky, her attention moved downwards, focusing next on the horizon. Distant hills shifted and grew, forming new peaks. A little snow on the highest ones gave it a nice touch.
She moved onwards to the terrain closer to her, shifting the shapes subtly here and there until they were to her liking, and pausing only when she felt a strange sensation. A familiar sensation.
“…Lulo… Lulo..!”
Lulo stirred, heavy eyesockets opening slowly. Her vision was still blurry, but she could make out Cambria looking down at her.
“C'mon sleepy, we’re almost ready to go.”
Lulo blinked, lifting her skull slightly. Right, they were all heading out tonight, and everyone was probably waiting on her. “…mm… kay…”
Seemingly satisfied with this, Cambria hurried off to finish her own preparation. Lulo sighed, sitting up and rubbing her skull, immediately wishing she could go back to her dream. Her movements felt so sluggish today by comparison, like she was stuck moving through water, and her head felt fuzzy and slow.
Maybe it would clear up if she got moving.
Probably not, she decided, but she grabbed her backpack with her notebook and mp3 player and headed for the door anyways. Maybe she could catch a nap later, and at least finish her terraforming project.
