I’m gonna be so honest when I say that I get the most work done when I’m either 1. Definitely supposed to be doing something else, or 2. Being told that I definitely can’t do it even if I wanted to. So, I would advise one to either actually no I shouldn’t be advising any of this at all.
Yk what, just because I like you dear mutual, I will say this: Be A Man from Mulan genuinely gets me through some of my worst procrastination days 💔 today I was struggling with sewing a glove (it turned out to be ass but who cares) and pretended that I was desperate soldier fixing my uniform in the night before an upcoming battle. Weird, I know. Gets the job done, though.

Which part of doing the lapels has been difficult? The angle or shaping? I didn’t use patterns blocks, but what I would suggest is folding the pattern paper on that line where you would fold back the lapel, and then you can do it by sight, just draw on what you want it to look like. I’d also get one of these babies:
Loved me my protractor, was whipping it out a lot, even placing it on screens to get angles.
Another thing that I did, because I struggle too!, was really make use of my mockup, and revise it in real time based on how the lapel or collar rests on my body. This was easier with the collar since I could take it on and off by itself, but, say it’s not coming out at the angle I want, then I would pin or draw on it which direction an edge or corner should have continued, or where it needs to be shaved down. I could also kind of gauge how many cm it seemed too short and where.
Then I’d shave the piece down or even pin/sew more fabric on and reshape it based on how the marks or pins were directing it. Some of it’s guesswork about what kind of angle will fall right. It’s not intuitive at all but you start to figure out how a shape on paper behaves on the body. Then when it starts looking how I want, I’d redraw my pattern and then cut *that* out and test it. Does that make sense?

NPCs - Sourced Documents: Order of Caphellus
The order of Caphellus is supposedly based on a Templar-Assassin construct in modern times in which order members wear a lapel pin, and carry a coin similar to the Eyes of The Grey.
They have many members, most are doctors, nurses and scientists looking to perfect humanity with the GOD Genome. This is similar to what some ISU wanted to do to humans so they could be controlled. The Caphellus members just want to honor the people with their given birth rites.
This comes from a man who had a snake, whose name was Caphellus. He believed the snake was the incarnation of an ancient Egyptian god, and so he would listen to his snake very closely. One evening, Caphellus got loosed from his caretaker and the old man died when Caphellus bit him, forming an ancient prophecy.
Caphellus re-animated the man after once again being in his isu form. He gave him his venom from his teeth and his caretaker became the first Ward.
All Order members carry this coin and wear the lapel pins.
