Voli diretti Catania-Madrid: Iberia riconnette la Sicilia con la Spagna
Dal 29 marzo 2026 Iberia attiva i voli diretti Catania-Madrid, ricollegando lo scalo di Fontanarossa con l'hub internazionale di Madrid-Barajas. La rotta ha una durata media di circa due ore e cinquanta minuti. Inoltre, attraverso Madrid-Barajas, i passeggeri siciliani accedono all'intero network intercontinentale della compagnia, con destinazioni verso il Sud America e gli Stati Uniti.
Il servizio parte con una frequenza iniziale contenuta, per poi crescere progressivamente durante la stagione estiva. Iberia struttura, dunque, la propria offerta in modo da rispondere alla domanda crescente nei mesi di punta del turismo mediterraneo. La scelta dello scalo etneo conferma, perciò, l'interesse della compagnia iberica verso il mercato siciliano. In aggiunta, il collegamento diretto elimina la necessità di scali intermedi per chi viaggia tra Sicilia e Spagna.

Why is there a Laterano church?
There is no historical precedent for non-Sankta becoming Sankta.
If the Laterano church does not offer a way for non-Sankta to become Sankta, why did Iberia adopt the Lateran church? Why do Liberi become members and officials of the church?
The Lateran church does not exist as a way to become a Lateran citizen, as that falls within the separate authority of the Notarial Hall. Furthermore, if the Iberian government wanted to become part of Laterano, it could have asked Laterano to annex it and its territory. Instead, Iberia remained a self-governing empire but welcomed the Lateran church into their culture for… what reasons?
In a stark contrast to [Break The Ice], I don’t think anyone in [Guiding Ahead] mentioned any sort of god even once. The closest anyone gets is when the Pope and Andoain talk about The Law.
And at the time, we were not allowed to know if The Law was a divine person like Kjerag or just a telephone left behind by the same civilization that considered the Chernobog Sarcophagus to be a simple home appliance. Even now, we’ve not been allowed to know what the regular citizen of Laterano believes The Law to be, whether it is their God Himself or a servant of their god or merely a set of scriptures.
It’s not until [Hortus de Escapismo] that anyone prays to any sort of god or asks themselves “What would my god want me to do?”. But even then no one refers to holy scriptures as laws or guidelines for personal conduct, as they do in Kjerag during [Break the Ice].
As an assistant on your homescreen, Exusiai prays to a “Lord” when the Doctor falls asleep, asking if the Doctor is “someone we gotta save, too?”
But what is “salvation”?
- Again, it cannot mean “becoming a Sankta”, which has never happened before, and which no one has ever even suggested should be possible. Even the idea that a mixed-blood child of a Sankta could become a Sankta is unthinkable, let alone anyone else gaining a halo later in life.
- Becoming a Lateran citizen. Unlikely; Laterano will take in immigrants but isn’t going out of its way to invite them. We’ve never seen a Lateran encourage anyone to become a fellow Lateran.
- Offer material aid? Laterano refused to send aid to Andoain’s Iberian village, and has not canonically shown any interest in funding Rhodes Island.
- Redemption into God’s grace? The only thing approaching damnation within their worldview seems to be Sanktae going dark when they fall, losing the empathic connection and the ability to use their patron gun, and maybe getting exiled, and maybe getting horns and a tail (if that doesn’t stem entirely from the Lock and Key staves). No one seems particularly concerned with forgiveness from sins or reconciliation with God, with any sort of impact on their life after death. There’s not even a method by which the fallen Sanktae can restore themselves into the good graces of The Law.
When Andoain speaks of salvation, he mostly seems to mean options (2) and (3); not any sort of salvation unto everlasting life after death, but merely having Laterano accept more immigration while also providing more (or any) material aid to suffering communities in other countries.
Perhaps the Iberian congregation of the Iberian branch of the Lateran church uses the church as a way to organize and distribute welfare to their fellow countrymen, but clearly the central Laterano branch is not contributing to those resources, so that’s not the reason why the Iberians welcomed the foreign church into their culture.
The first Sanktae were Sarkaz cast out from Kazdel.
You see them wandering the earth with only the cloaks on their backs. They have no wagons, no mounts, no livestock. No real hope of survival.
In the middle of nowhere, they find the Law, and the Law transforms them.
They settle down in that nowhere place, where no one else lives, and they make a temporary camp outside of the place where they build their city around the Law. You can see the time-lapse of the city walls and towers being constructed, and the camp outside shrinking away to nothing.
That is not a picture of Sanktae besieging a Sarkaz city.
And then we see the complete opposite: The Sarkaz besieging the Sankta city.
The Sarkaz, angry that their outcasts did not die, envious that their outcasts managed to succeed and find happiness without them. Those Sarkaz came to kill the Sanktae and steal what they had built. And even after they failed, they never stopped hating the Sanktae for finding peace.
Laterano is not an empire. It is one city.
The Sanktae took no land from anyone. They took no slaves, they stole no food, they seized no infrastructure. They made everything they have, honestly. With the blessings of the Law, they built a paradise.
The Iberians who came to live as Lateran citizens were leaving an older and stronger nation, an imperial nation, to live under the rule of the Sanktae. They came by choice, and they could have left by choice. Maybe some of them did leave, but most stayed, and few of the descendants ever leave.
