This is a private & mutuals only, mixed canon portrayal of Fire Lord Zuko from Avatar Legends, with heavy influences from comic canon. Default timeline set post Smoke and Shadow, approximately 4 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Blog est. March 2025.
Crossovers are highly encouraged, but please make sure you’ve watched ATLA fairly recently, because some important lore details [which are pretty well-known within the fandom] come straight from the show itself, which impact how our characters exist and interact in this universe. I am a mature, literate, mutuals only, selective, & moderately active roleplayer. I work full-time from home, which allows me to roleplay off and on throughout the day but I keep the bulk of my activity to my days off. I reply to all threads via a queue. During the week I frequently do live, back and forth of whatever I’m feeling ‘into’ at the time.
I enjoy chatting ooc and building connections with mutuals, but for online safety, I keep personal details limited. I’m here to roleplay and create a positive, fun environment. I am dedicated to fostering a hate-free environment. I want to emphasize that I will not share, discuss, or even acknowledge any anonymous submissions that convey purposeful negativity. If you feel the need to voice something hurtful anonymously, I believe it’s best left unsaid. While it may seem harsh, I won’t publicly address the issue of anonymous hate directed at others. I believe that bringing it into the open only exacerbates the problem. My support will always be offered in private.
I prefer to avoid political discussions on this blog, and I’d appreciate it if you could tag those posts so I can filter them out. We live in a world that’s overwhelmed with political discourse, and for my mental well-being, I need a space that allows me to decompress and escape from daily stressors. I kindly ask that you tag any political content with terms like “tw: politics,” “tw: current events,” “politics for cw,” “current events cw,” and “politics cw,” so I can maintain a quiet, stress-free environment here.
My Portrayal
My portrayal of Zuko is influenced by both the animated and live action series, upcoming movie, and comic canon. I will often reference people and events from those sources, so if you’re not familiar with something, please let me know. The comics I use are The Promise, The Search, Smoke & Shadow, Ashes of the Academy, and Legacy of the Fire Nation
Zuko’s canon is rooted in the rich culture of the Fire Nation, primarily influenced by Imperial Japan, but I do take inspiration from China and other east asian cultures. As the Fire Lord, Zuko’s portrayal is grounded in the complexities of royal duty, honor, and the weight of leading a nation that once sought global dominance. My characterization incorporates the hierarchical structures, formalities, and customs intrinsic to Fire Nation nobility, reflecting the societal norms and expectations of Zuko’s world.
When interacting in character, it’s important to respect these cultural elements; if your character behaves in a way that disregards Fire Nation etiquette or challenges Zuko’s authority without just cause, he will respond as any ruler burdened with responsibility would. Although the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is fictional, it operates under its own set of rules and customs that help maintain the integrity of the fourth wall, enhancing our world-building and making interactions feel more immersive.
I am open to engaging at any point in Zuko’s timeline and can easily adapt to your preferred era or storyline.
My portrayal of Zuko has a profound connection with @nationforged , @throneforged, @musedbyalli, @irohthesecond, @bloodofthefates, @personaei, @droplct, @flxshy, @jintletealeaf, @moongivcr, @crownshattered, and @sumimasu. These partners have established a lasting bond with both Zuko and myself. While I am always open to new connections, this group holds a special place in our hearts. Their influence is intricately woven into the fabric of Zuko’s narrative, which is why I prioritize them in my storytelling. For instance, when Zuko speaks of Iroh, he is specifically referencing his relationship with personaei’s portrayal of Iroh.
Following & Unfollowing
I keep my dashboard aligned with my character’s interests, and I take the time to check out every blog that follows me for potential interactions. I just cannot be mutuals with every person who follows me. If I don’t follow you back, please don’t take it personally; it’s not a reflection of you as a person or a writer. You’re more than welcome to keep following and sending anons if you’d like! I also post starters that anyone can respond to, so feel free to engage.
If we’re mutuals and you ever feel the need to end our connection, I’d appreciate a soft block. I really value open and honest communication, and I’m always open to addressing any concerns or misunderstandings directly. However, I understand that not everyone feels comfortable discussing these matters, and that’s okay. If you feel it’s best to part ways, I just ask that you make it a clean break, as I prefer not to have lingering connections on my dash. Thank you for understanding.
Replies, Activity, & Plotting
The kinds of roleplays that really hold my attention are the ones that dig deep into the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I call it lorebending. As a lorebender, I love exploring the layers of Zuko’s world; its history, its politics, its cultures, and that means tackling the themes of racism, colonization, and genocide woven in the Fire Nation’s history. These aren’t light topics, but they’re part of what makes the world feel alive, and part of what makes writing Zuko so meaningful to me.
I completely understand that not everyone wants that kind of roleplay or that level of commitment. And that’s okay! I enjoy lighter, fun threads too, and I’m always balancing things out. But if you’re hoping to become a main partner of mine, I want to be upfront that the kind of writing I’m looking for most is layered and deeply rooted in the world and its lore.
Roleplay is a cherished hobby for me, and I want to keep it lighthearted and fun. I manage this blog with smaller threads and a lot of memes – memes are the best way to interact with me and get things started – and I aim to reply about once a week via a queue. I don’t expect everyone to match my pace; a bit of consistency helps keep our stories flowing more easily for me as someone with ADD-PI, but life gets busy, and we all have different paces, so please don’t stress about replies to our interactions taking longer. Having some semi consistent ooc communication is extremely helpful for me as well. If you’re comfortable with that, I enjoy chatting ooc about our muses and hearing that you’re enjoying the interactions as much as I am. We don’t need to become best friends or share personal details; I thrive when there is a good ooc connection between us, and it helps form a strong bond between our characters, which is also important to me.
If you’ve come to me to brainstorm and collaborate, I expect you to have some ideas in mind so we can work together effectively. If I find myself doing all the heavy lifting, I’ll have to decline further interaction for now. Please feel free to reach out when you have a clearer vision of what you’re looking for. Crossovers
I absolutely love crossovers! If you have a plot idea, feel free to share it with me or tag me in a starter. I’m open to placing Zuko in various timelines, even if your character’s world is outside of Avatar: The Last Airbender or set in a different historical or fantasy context. However, horror, occult, video games, and vampire genres don’t typically capture my interest, except for a few exceptions like Kingdom Hearts and The Legend of Zelda. For other genres, I evaluate them on a case-by-case basis.
Asks & Memes
I know some of you aren’t comfortable sending dms to ask for clarification so I wanted to do that here. I am a big sender of memes. I know how crummy it feels to post memes hoping for interactions and not getting any so I make an effort to send as many as I can to mutuals.
Some of my favorite, most feelsy, and hilarious interactions have spurned from memes. It doesn’t matter if the post was intended by the op as an assumed relationship or nsfw prompt, I’m going to send one that seems innocuous to me so you can be creative with it and decide the context. I would never and have never purposefully pushed shipping/relationships with anyone.
All it means is that line read as funny or feelsy to me out of nsfw context and I could see Zuko saying it
My ask box is open to everyone, which is a great opportunity for me to engage with blogs I may have missed or didn’t know about. However, I kindly ask that you refrain from reblogging our asks and turning them into threads, as this creates an obligation for me to manage more threads than I can handle. As I said above, I genuinely enjoy memes and dash comms. and some of my best moments and relationships have sprung from spontaneous asks with exciting plot developments. Duplicates
I prefer to limit interactions with duplicate characters to just a few, as repetitive plots can become tedious and lead to boredom, especially considering my ADHD. However, I’m open to engaging with a well-crafted duplicate character if we can brainstorm an interesting plot together. This guideline, however, does not apply to characters from the Frozen canon.
My Zuko is the only Zuko on this blog. He will not acknowledge the existence of other Zukos in other universes. When we interact, I will treat your character as the version of them that is canon to Zuko. For example, any Iroh he meets will be his uncle.
I’ve made a commitment to fostering a supportive community within the rpc and I appreciate and support my fellow Zuko muns. It’s vital to recognize the line between finding inspiration in each other and imitation, especially when it comes to our unique portrayals of characters like Zuko. Each writer brings their own voice and creativity to the table, and it’s important that we honor that diversity. By promoting kindness and collaboration, we can create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Shipping
I love the romance genre, and while I write extensively within it, my primary focus isn’t on shipping characters. Instead, I’m drawn to character development and exploring relationships —whether they be friendships, familial bonds, or rivalries. When I consider a potential ship, the chemistry between characters is what truly motivates me.
I practice shipping exclusivity to maintain consistent character dynamics and deepen connections through focused storytelling. If I have established a ship, I’m not able to replicate that connection with other versions of the same character. This isn’t personal or driven by anxiety; it’s just how my mind works creatively. Once my muse is attached, that is the only version of that muse he wants romantically. That said, this isn’t something I expect my partners to reciprocate; they are free to ship with duplicates if that’s something they want to do.

I’m open to shipping a variety of pairings on this blog, as long as there’s genuine chemistry involved; however, I have strong reservations about incest, and pedophilia is a hard no.
As for Zuko, I envision him as heterosexual (demisexual). Regarding NSFW content, I’m over 18, as is my character. Any sexual content will be tagged as usfw.
