It was a blue moon they said.
It didn’t look blue. It weren’t any bigger. Weren’t any brighter.
“Why do they say once in a blue moon?”
“Because it doesn’t happen often,” mummy answered.
“But why?” young Jamie pressed.
“Because sometimes the moon can look blue if there’s a storm or summat in space.”
“Oh.”
Jamie thought about that. Space storms seemed pretty mint.
Mummy held his face in her hands as she said, “You’re my blue moon, baby. Because a love like you doesn’t come around often.”
Baby Jamie didn’t know why, but he liked the idea of that.

Her being a teacher and an adult but not exactly the De Facto Leader is basically like Jyou Kido but More Poignant bc she’s not like A Grade Above Them. Which is not a bad position in the team! I like Jyou :] but her being very like. Out Of Her Depth here is interesting to me. she’s not prepared for Survival Skills she’s trained to Teach Like Social Studies or some shit. wait did we ever give her what kinda class she teaches-
anyways. the kids end up being better than her in Most Regards in terms of Surviving in Digital Alternate World and she reallllyyyy gets kinda Fucked Up by that. She’s the LITERAL ADULT how is she so bad at Actually Being The Adult here??
I think she would be somewhat like. emotionally stunted? not A Lot but isn’t good at calming kids down and settling problems bc she’s so used to like. sending to the principal/Structural Punishment. that doesnt work in Bumfuck Computer Land. and Torrance ends up honestly being the kind of Emotional Crux for everyone since thats kinda his Thing is helping ppl.
actual Survival Skills would be a LOT from Luc since they’re very into survivalist stuff. the Rivera siblings would also be very decently into like. coming up with survivalist stuff bc theyre uh. #hellaneglected and ended up figuring out how to do random shit themselves. anyways Leena would be very Un-Survivalist but she’d probably be a pretty good cook w/ the kids esp cause she’d be more in tuned with like. spices and prepping food to taste good. like she’s no five star chef but I can’t fully expect any of the kids to exactly know how to sear steak that well.
ok basically she ends up kind of “Role-less” within the group and is moreso wanting to not particularly get involved with whatever shit is up w/ the digital world and is so much more worried about the Literal Kids she’s with and herself getting home safely and sound so others of more qualifications can clean up here (except OOPS!! her and the kids under her care are literally fated to be the ones to fix shit!!) and it stresses her out. She ends up feeling really kinda bad about being. Kinda Inadequate at taking care of the kids, with the kids seemingly taking care of each other and HER more than they really should. I mean she’s not a total deadweight or anything she Does do good for everyone but like. she was nottttt trained for this shit dude LMAO. I thinks he would also have some early tension w/ Torrance wrt Authority Figure she really tries to lean into to keep everyone safe and Torrance’s extreme aversion to Authority Figure roles. her backing off from that role and actually allowing the kids to Help Them Not Die is both like. really good in terms of everyone getting along better and taking care of each other but also Kinda Bad For her Mentally since she also feels like that’s a really big failure point on her.
anyways the kids Do lean on her a lot for. like an emotionally calm pillar? She Doesn’t want to make any of the kids worry wrt her own feelings and thoughts and is Really good at hiding it from them so she does end up being like. The Levelheaded and Wise. even tho she’s internally like “FUCKFUCKFUCK we are ALL GOING TO DIE AND IT WILL BE MY FAULT!!! if we get back I AM SO DEAD theyre going to KILL ME and FIRE ME for not properly being able to handle and protect these kids!!! FUCKKKKKKK!!!!” but she will absolutely throw herself in front of any harm that’ll come towards these children. She is very protective of them both out of sense of obligation and also she just. really likes them. She’s already familiar and close with Wessel before being Isekai’d after all, and how could you not love the rest of the kids either <3
