FOLLOWING UP ON THIS POST WITH WHAT I ORIGINALLY INTENTIONED TO WRITE ABOUT:
Valley!Rebecca is split between her younger self and her current self, who is locked behind the mirrors of the Calvary (the mountain fortress where she, Marcus, and the show’s other residents are trapped), which themselves are obscured by blue curtains. I’m thinking she wears purples or lavenders to symbolize Marcus’s influence over her, and to show her as a reflection of Amanda, who wears yellow.
Valley!Sam is a rogue knight with a rooster motif. I’m trying to think of a fantastical steed creature he could have, so let me know if anything comes to mind!
Valley!Joanne has cardinal wings and her outfit resembles that of Little Red Riding Hood. Maybe her scars from Shepherd’s attack flicker Static.
Valley!Kate is basically Little Bo Peep from Toy Story 4. She wields a crook and everything!
You’ve already seen Valley!Marcus (or “Mars,” as he prefers to be called) in some of my art—sheep mask, white hair, flowing blue cloak. Sinister wizard vibes all around. He has two other incarnations I’m still working on, but Mars is his “default” form.
Valley!Trevor is a flickering Static phantom who haunts the Calvary and wears a fox mask.
Valley!Gretchen has a Frankenstein/doll vibe with stitches and buttons adorning her. Very similar to Ragatha from TADC. I’m still trying to decide whether she’s in the Valley or the Calvary, because her doll counterpart’s in the show, but she can still interface with us irl through it.
The Missing Kids also resemble Static ghosts, dressed in grays and desaturated hues. Their designs harken to the Ghost Children of Coraline. I headcanon that Rebecca’s pod enabled her to age, while the kids remained frozen as kids in their own pods, hence why they don’t have dual selves in the Valley like young and old Rebecca.
The Curtain members who partook in the Static Rapture that went horribly wrong have been fused to parts of the Valley or straight up turned into monsters/phantoms there. There’s some fucked-up statues in the Calvary that Rebecca swears are watching her.
A memory recreation of Kensdale itself also survives in the Valley, but it flickers between its present version and its ancient twin, Rinteln. The residents who’ve died to Entities (likely those who tried to destroy their tapes at the Director’s request) reside here, and have fantastical motifs of their own. The Matthews have flower-based abilities, for instance.
I don’t know what’s up with Meatman/the Director and idk if Wakefield’s even here, but that’s the rough draft gist of things so far!!!
