I am drawn to these floors. Scattered through my photos from my travels around the world, you will find photos very similar to this one.
I redid the kitchen in my first house and had the floor done in 12 inch square black and white ceramic tiles on the diagonal. That was the thing I loved best about that kitchen.
However, I grew up in a suburban tract house built on a slab with carpet throughout including the kitchen. The bathroom had linoleum. So while I loved the idea, I had no experience living with ceramic tile.
Imagine my surprise when I dropped something fragile in the kitchen one day and it BROKE! I was shocked TBH.
Anyhoo … I love these floors.
