DAY 23: SMOKING, the action or habit of inhaling and exhaling the smoke of tobacco by sucking on the end of a lit cigarette, cigar, pipe, etc.

Went in the direction of a 1920’s flapper, because when I think about cigarettes I always imagine those long sticks where people take exaggerated draws from them while lounging on a couch doing nothing. As for the overall look, the necklace was almost forgotten which takes a lot away from the actual picture, so I am glad I remembered to put it in! I think it ties her appearance up nicely.

I’ve contemplated on trying to do more ‘mature’ drawings in the past, but I always get antsy regarding it. Perhaps sometime later this year? Who knows.

Flapper actress extraordinaire Colleen Moore (born Kathleen Morrison; August 19, 1899 – January 25, 1988) in her home in the late 1920s. Moore not only helped popularize the bob hairstyle, she was one of the more financially savvy actresses of the era, retiring to write books about how to make money in stocks.
