FIRESTAR STIMBOARD

Sources
very very very rough storyboards I might do something with if I ever get any other projects done first
okI was too lazy to draw normal
Scrouge×firestar
I forgot about the scars and the collar, ok sorry

mtmte established that firestar was just as lonely as nautica bc she also had a hard time making friends and every day i wish they leaned more into that instead of giving her more of a stereotypical ditzy self-absorbed popular girl personality
The people who wanted to do to you what I’ve done, the ones who you’ve hurt, they’ll echo through my nails and teeth

ARE MY FELLOW WARRIOR CATS FANS AWARE OF THE MTSTERY PLUSHIES? AM I FRESHLY 35 AND BUYING FICTIONAL CAT PLUSHIES? YES! LOOK AT THEM. I GOT MY BOY FIRESTAR DON’T TOUCH ME.

Of course after reviewing Graystripe I knew I had to do the OG next.
Let me start off by saying that this boy is BRIGHT. I don’t know how well my camera and lightbox were able to convey it, but this guy is ORANGE.
He is roughly the same size as Graystripe, and about similar quality. That being said, he does have a few flaws in his paint that are more noticeable simply because of the pattern they chose.
Firestar has been depicted many ways throughout the series. A red tabby, solid red, ticked tabby, etc. The main thing is that he’s Orange and has Green eyes. 9 times out of 10 if you see an orange cat in the WC series, they’re either Firestar or his kin. All in all this is a good representation of him, you can immediately tell who this is supposed to be, but I am a bit biased because I have always been more of a fan of the ticked / ruddy tabby depictions.
Overall Rating (See readmore for full breakdown / thoughts )
Paint/Print quality: 6/10
Representation of Character: 10/10
Stability (can the figure stand without falling over): 10/10
Color Choice: 7/10
Like Graystripe, he is modeled very well. However I wish they had given him a bit more of a neck, he looks a bit stunted in a way. His stripes blend into the base color of the body a bit depending on the lighting, but that’s fine, feels a bit more realistic I suppose.
The biggest issues I have with this figure is the various paint scuffs / bleeds as shown in the pictures above. One of the stripes on his flank is smudged and chunky, and there’s some paint bleed from the yellow of his chest. There’s also a strange black spot on his tail? I’m not sure if that’s just factory dirt or an ink stain. His paw pads are all fairly off center, but I won’t hold that against him since its not like they would ever be seen when he’s displayed.
I do like the soft yellow gradient on his tail, paws, and ears, but as I said I’ve always been more partial to the Abyssinian / ticked tabby look for Firestar that I find myself wishing they had chosen a deeper ruddy color instead. Oh well, I could always paint a double / modify this one.
Overall I think this is a great figure, and to my understanding he is “common” rarity in series 1, so he should be fairly easy to get either in store or secondhand.
I should be able to review the bulk of series 1, as the only two I am missing now are Silverstream and Cinderpelt. (If anyone would like to trade, I have two extra Yellowfangs!)
