In the world of The Backwards Knight, magic has been outlawed, and even banished, from the world at large. The Paladin has decreed it anathema, and as such those who use it, or bear its mark, are hunted down and dealt with.
The Paladin’s knights, and his elf, are trained to hunt down and deal with mages. Which is usually by bringing them back for justice at The Paladin’s hands.
