Yet more rewatching of Ep 2 made me see the following.
[[MORE]]So Subaru asks Reinhard to deliver a message to Emilia & claims to not know her name-
-that’s all fine and dandy. What’s not so fine and dandy is we get to see this immediately after.
Like. Huuuuuuh?? We are lingering quite long on a frame where Reinhard seems to be having some odd epiphany. Then it transitions into-
-us finally getting to see Subaru’s question and we all know how Reinhard will respond.
Initially I had chalked this odd lingering of a frame on Reinhard realizing Subaru was talking about Emilia and that could still be credible… but I also wonder if there is also something more now given Reinhard def knows Subaru has some critical role in fates machinations.

Would Em Choose to Work With Animals or an Inventor/Engineer?
I was thinking about Em going to the city to work in palace, and how she became the royal griffin wrangler. This made me wonder if it’s because she wanted to leave Rudick’s Hollow, or if she would rather work with animals? Given what we’ve seen, I think that Em would choose to be an engineer if she wasn’t a Mysticon, and just took the griffin wrangler job to get out of Rudick’s Hollow.
The first evidence of this is what we see Em do as a Mysticon. She rarely discusses taking care of the griffins, and seemed surprised when Arkayna told her to get the griffins ready. This made me think that she isn’t used to preparing the griffins for the Mysticons. She also didn’t have much of a role in taking care of Stormy, despite her experience with animals (since Pudding was specifically bought for Piper, it makes sense Em didn’t have a role in taking care of him). However, we see Em with various inventions, including her mech (which if you missed ep. 6, could be mistaken for a Mysticon power with how much it’s used). This makes me think that, while she likes animals, she does prefer inventing, as she does it more.
The second piece of evidence is how Em seemed to think about Rudick’s Hollow at the start of the series. She called it a “hole in the rock” and seemed embarrassed by it. This makes me think that she wanted to leave Rudick’s Hollow, not just become a griffin wrangler. And while she does seem to gain more of an appreciation for where she came from as the series progresses, I imagine that it affected why she was happy to become a griffin wrangler at the start of the series.
This doesn’t explain how she became the griffin wrangler without her parents’ knowing, but that doesn’t disprove anything. No matter what, that issue would still exist.
In short, while I imagine Em likes working with animals, her passion seems to be inventing. So, I imagine Em would be an engineer or inventor if she wasn’t a Mysticon.

How ironic that Roswaal loses something symbolic of his family and then in Arc 1 we’ll see Emilia basically get pickpocketed in the same fashion for an item that is a symbol of importance too like that.
Anyhow. Roswaal’s remark here on it being odd the plume was stolen if they were not after money is making me think that it’s probably more to strike a blow against the idea of nobility given how Marcos over there was clearly against the nobility & the boy, Bal, was clearly under him even if Marcos didn’t appear to fully sanction his actions.
