So, I just watched the first two episodes of ’The Dinosaurs’ on Netflix.

What a wave of nostalgia. The series has some issues, of course, but I can’t help but be swept up by the magnitude of dinosaurs’ reign on earth and what magnificent creatures they were, absolute marvels of evolution.

While the series doesn’t hit quite the same as the OG ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ for me, I do appreciate the focus on early reptiles and how it took many cataclysmic geographic events and twists of evolution to ensure that the dinosaurs eventually gained dominance over such species.

It’s also fascinating how the presence of certain aquatic species created such a divide between what occurred on land, and the kind of life that evolved in the oceans. I also loved the wilderness of Pangaea, later Gondwanaland and Laurasia, bewildering to think of how this massive landmass shifted to the continents and climates we know today.

Watching the documentary DID leave me with that same old sense of wonder I experienced as a child, receiving my first dino encyclopedia, flipping through those glossy pages and unearthing a world that makes my own existence less than a blip on the radar of life on earth.

I hope upcoming episodes, and other documentaries covering those eras, always leave me with that inexplicable excitement, that there is always so much more for the human race to uncover about out planet’s past.

Stream It Or Skip It?

In the CBS series Harlan Coben’s Final Twist, the best-selling mystery writer — and EP of lots of TV adaptations of those novels — hosts and narrates his first true-crime docuseries. In each episode, Coben brings viewers a new true-crime case that’s as full of as many twists and turns as his novels have. The “final twist” of the show’s title is definitely part of the narrative in each…

My Top 5 Favorite Parts of The End of an Era Docuseries

  1. All the Tayvis moments woven throughout the series.
From the quiet sweetness of Tayvis’ phone calls, to Andrea Swift casually revealing herself as the ultimate matchmaker, to Taylor watching Kansas City Chiefs games with her family, and Travis showing up for Indy Night 2.Taylor and Travis are each other’s biggest fans and are deeply in love with one another.
  2. Episode Two’s “Florida!!!” performance sequence.
Watching choreographer Mandy Moore and co-choreographer/dancer Amanda Balen build the choreography from early rehearsals with Taylor and Florence Welch, through Florence’s interviews, and finally to the euphoric Wembley performance was pure electricity. It perfectly captured how collaboration, friendship, creativity, and shared chaos can turn into something transcendent onstage.
  3. The focus on the dancers, musicians, and backup singers.
I loved how the docuseries centered the people who make the show possible — especially stories like Amanda Balen coming out of retirement to dance with Taylor, and Jeslyn Gorman stepping away from The Eras Tour to undergo cancer treatment. These moments are tender, emotional, and deeply respectful. The Eas Tour was built by a community of hard-working artists.
  4. The behind-the-scenes mechanics of the tour.
The quick costume changes, the stage lifts, the precise timing. Seeing Taylor navigate all of it with calm focus underscored just how athletic and meticulously engineered the show really is. These scenes make every performance feel even more miraculous in retrospect.
  5. Studio footage of Taylor recording new music.
Getting glimpses of Taylor working on songs from The Tortured Poet’s Department and The Life of a Showgirl felt magical. Even while closing one chapter, she was already writing the next one. A key part of what makes Taylor Swift a true icon.

I’m so emo right now again, I just finished the docuseries and I’m soooooo depressed again because it reminds me of what I missed. I wanted to go so so so so so badly. Over 100 shows and I couldn’t got a single fcking one.

I had my outfit picked out, I had my dreams and hopes high, only to br crushed over and over and over again. I wanted to go and make friends, I wanted to see past eras I missed from missed tours (ESPECIALLY REPUTATION!), I wanted to experience the magic of the the folkmore set (my favorite album!), I wanted to dance and sing my heart out to the songs I have listened to for years and years and years, I wanted to BOP and g with everyone else to anti hero because as soon as it came out and I heard it, I was like “I NEED to sing that in a stadium with thousands of other swifties!” I wanted to get tour merch from a show and not online, I wanted to trade friendships bracelets, I wanted to be there I’m person and not watching a grainy live stream and I can’t rest knowing I missed not only the greatest tour taylor has had, but the greatest tour of ALL TIME. I have been in mourning since the tour ended and it’s really hitting me again now. 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

Thoughts about the Taylor Swift docuseries so far…that no one asked for but I feel compelled to say. First of all, the beauty of this show is how she really spotlights everyone else. The band, the dancers, the crew…the lives of the people who ride into battle with her. To me that is beautiful. She doesnt have to be like that. We all have seen plenty of people raised well who are not nice and considerate. She is all those things. Secondly, the bonuses. A woman or man of such wealth doesnt typically remember those who help them fly. She is truly showing others “hey you have more than enough money to shower those around you and build them up. Fucking do it” she gives to the truck drivers, the stage crew the dancers life changing money. She gives them the ability to breathe! To be able to enjoy the dream job without guilt. 3rd - shes so badass. She works her ass off to make that show special. Meaningful. Prior to Eras Tour the only other artist I knew of doing 3 ½ hours was Bruce Springsteen. I’ve seen Bruce live and I see what he gives to the fans and its a special experience you see once in a lifetime. So watching her final show, and knowing all the work she did….its equally as impressive. My sister was lucky enough to see her live and she said she cried more than once and she is a grown ass woman. Had I been there…I would have done the same. Lastly, the new album. I love it for a lot of reasons. Yes I know its not the mystical meloncholy of folklore but thats okay. This album is pure joy and love mixed with reflection on where shes been. The ties she had to cut, the betrayals, and some heartbreak that she survived like a champ. Also, if u are a woman who has survived divorce, this album hits on another level. Losing friends you trusted. Rebuilding your life. Then, later on seeing long time friends whither away when u thought they’d be there forever…its seasons of change. In the end, I know I don’t “know” her. But im happy she is happy. Im happy she is comfortable and has found a man who matches her comfort with bright lights. She may be a stranger to me, but I feel close to her via her music. Just like I do with Springsteen, the black crows, Brandi carlile, counting crows, Kacey Musgraves, the avett brothers, and the list goes on. Joy. They all bring joy to my life. So yeah Taylor, I would definitely ride into battle with you if the call was made. ❤️

Taylor’s stylist Joseph Cassell shows his gratitude and thanks Taylor Swift for trusting him to be a part of her journey and on The Eras Tour in recent post:

“As I watch these episodes it makes me so happy to see how we—the cast, the crew, THE FANS, the cities around the world—all got to help Taylor create an experience so massively global and yet equally intimate and deeply personal. Once in a lifetime doesn’t begin to describe it—right?!Thank you, Taylor, for trusting me to be a part of this incredible journey! I love this photo so much and, when I saw it, the first thing I thought (aside from the fact that I really needed a haircut) is that I can’t remember the number of times I’ve looked up at you from that same position the photographer captured in this image. What I do remember is that every time I look up, I’ll see the same kind, beautiful, encouraging, self-deprecating, brilliant, hilarious, immensely talented person that I met so many years ago in Nashville and have traveled the world with ever since. I also love this image because it reminds me that my love language is acts of service, so thank you for letting me support your dreams and help bring your vision to life over the years.I, like every other Swiftie, can’t wait for the last two episodes to drop so I can hop back on this Disney+ roller coaster of copious tears and uncontrollable laughter 😭🤣♥️ Dir. @/dargottCo-Dir. @/sheenamjoyceDP @/jarredalterman”
