NHL Central: The Playoff Cauldron Brews

The 2026 NHL transaction cutoff has concluded. The Toronto Maple Leafs divested themselves of players, the Foligno siblings are set to compete on the same ice hockey roster for the very first occasion, Colton Parayko did not transfer to the Buffalo Sabres, and the already strong teams appeared to gain even more strength.
This observation holds particularly true within the Central Division. The…

The fag end of summer

Last days of a tense summer
Harbinger of a tenser autumn
Everything feels…heavy
…waiting for the storm to rage

The baiters are in full flow
Ominous battle lines form…
No one listens as tensions rise
…why, when you have a tribe?

The flags are going up
Territories are carved out
As packs are forming up
…divides are ever deepening

No way to end a summer
Deep down, something broke
Bile and division spew forth
…feels like there’s no way back

It’s getting all too much
I need to back off out
Go dark and refuse to bite
…keep my own counsel

The woods and fields beckon
Nature offers her comforts
I’ll seek some solace there
…among the ancient spirits

Nihilistic…

Conflicts escalate
Tensions mount
Divisions prevail
Foreboding closes in

A one way trajectory
Is the end in sight?
The end of us?
Nothing makes sense

We tried to fight it
What a waste that was
Sacrifice for nothing
Now it’s too late

How long left?
Who sodding knows…
Staring into the abyss
What does it all mean?

It all means nothing
Take what joy you can
Be kind while you do it
Then go out smiling…

Overcoming Divisions Through Joy - Philippians 4:4-9

Knowing that we live in a world that is exceedingly divided, it is ever more important to not let such divisions take root in the church. In Philippians, Paul speaks of two sisters that had let division come between them, but needed to come back to together. What follows are some thoughts that can help facilitate that unity.

The Biggest Problem in the Church, the Body of Christ…

Is not division.  It is deception, and it is deception that inevitably leads to division.

Who is the cause of division?  Those separating for the sake of the truth, or those holding to error who ultimately disagree with division?  Paul says it is those who are in error that cause divisions in the church and offend.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences…

Uber’s new autonomous vehicle division is about survival and opportunity

Uber has a pitch for autonomous vehicle makers: we got this.
The ride-hailing and food delivery company has launched a new division called Uber Autonomous Solutions designed to take on all the tasks associated with operating a robotaxi, self-driving truck, or sidewalk delivery robot business, including software and support services.
The initiative, announced Monday, formalizes what Uber has been…

The sound echos in my mind
Secluded from the world but yet still in it
I hear the anger, the frustration
the misunderstanding
Always misunderstood
I long to see people listen to each other
Not just hear but listen
Think
Consider
I long for people to live with compassion
But all I see is apathy
Apathy or anger
I see hate and division
When I wish I could see love and community
But it all deteriorates by greed
By fame and wealth It turns even the most selfless selfish
Turned like a coin in a fountain
There is an absence of kindness,
a void left by hearing
But not listening
Reacting
And not thinking
And as the yells echo through the walls
I wish I could stop it all.

For The Children

I am begging now.

Not from a stage.

Not from a party.

Not from ideology.

From the raw place

in my chest

that feels like it is cracking open

watching people turn into enemies

over narratives

they did not even write.

I have watched the radical left

stop sounding like liberals

and start sounding like permanent activists,

always escalating,

always pushing,

always demanding the next upheaval

before the last wound has even healed.

Liberal once meant

measured.

Thoughtful.

Reform without chaos.

Now it feels like a storm

that refuses to slow down long enough

to see who is being swept away.

And in the noise,

a truth was buried.

Most ordinary people,

left and right,

never actually rejected deportation

as a concept.

They rejected cruelty.

They rejected force.

They rejected the tearing of families

like pages from the same book.

They rejected methods

that scar the soul

more than they solve the problem.

History remembers

even when politics pretends not to.

A Democrat president

was once called

the “Deporter in Chief,”

and suddenly memory

became selective,

softened,

edited for comfort.

Then I turn

and look at MAGA,

and the air changes.

Heavier.

Sharper.

Colder.

There is a cruelty

that feels less like policy

and more like retaliation.

As if the last four years

of relentless, rapid, radical change

lit a fuse,

and now the response is not balance,

but revenge.

But you do not see

what so many people

have been trying to say all along:

It was never deportation alone

that people feared most.

It was the methods.

The spectacle.

The force.

The family separation.

The human cost

broadcast like theater.

And then the words come out,

so confident,

so certain:

“I support immigration,”

you insist,

as you applaud policies

centered on expulsion.

No.

You support deportation.

Supporting immigration

means welcoming people in,

not redefining removal

as patriotism.

And the Left is not innocent

in this theater of language either.

“I support compassion,”

you insist,

while shaming, silencing,

and steamrolling dissent.

No.

You support righteousness.

Because compassion

that cannot tolerate disagreement

is not compassion at all.

And now both sides

stand like opposing constellations,

bright, loud,

and completely blind

to the gravity pulling them apart.

Blind

to the oldest strategy

power has ever used.

Divide them.

Exhaust them.

Keep them arguing

while the foundation shifts beneath their feet.

War whispers

on the horizon of the world.

Scandals surface

in waves too large to ignore.

Children suffer quietly

inside homes strained

by economic pressure

and emotional division.

Prices rise

like an unrelenting tide.

Food costs climb.

Housing climbs.

Stress climbs.

And we are busy

fighting each other

over ideological purity tests

while reality tightens

around our throats.

The elite are not screaming.

They are not panicking.

They are not divided like us.

They are watching.

Strategizing.

Profiting.

While we fracture ourselves

into manageable pieces.

Our food is poisoned

by profit-driven shortcuts.

Our attention is manipulated.

Our fears are monetized.

Our outrage is engineered.

Left and Right both participate

in systems

that harm us daily,

while pretending moral superiority

over one another.

Propaganda.

Privilege.

Entitlement.

Prejudice.

Different slogans.

Same poison.

And it is killing us.

Not instantly.

But steadily.

Socially.

Emotionally.

Spiritually.

If you worship a politician,

you are kneeling

to a false god

made of speeches

and strategic promises.

Every religion,

every moral philosophy,

every ancient teaching

has repeated the same message

like a cosmic echo:

Love.

Empathy.

Compassion.

Humility.

Not vengeance.

Not ideological extremism.

Not dehumanization.

Human connection

is the only universal truth

that has survived

every empire,

every war,

every collapse.

And yet we abandon it

for teams.

For labels.

For narratives

handed to us

like scripts.

I am devastated.

Truly.

Deeply.

Maternal in my fear

for the world

our children are inheriting.

Hearts are hardening.

Minds are being conditioned.

Souls are shrinking

into algorithm-shaped cages.

Stop.

Please.

Stop letting propaganda

decide who deserves empathy.

Stop letting hatred

feel like intelligence.

Stop letting division

feel like righteousness.

If not for yourself,

then for the children

watching adults normalize contempt

as if it were wisdom.

They deserve a world

where disagreement

does not equal dehumanization.

Where policy debates

do not become moral warfare.

Where people remember

that being human

comes before being political.

I am not speaking

from superiority.

I am speaking

from heartbreak.

From watching a society

tear itself in half

while real crises

grow quietly in the background

like storm clouds we refuse to name.

Wake up.

Not later.

Not when it is convenient.

Not when your side loses.

Now.

Before empathy becomes rare.

Before division becomes permanent.

Before our hearts darken so much

we forget how to see each other

as human beings

instead of political symbols.

I am begging

out of devastation,

out of love,

out of fear

for what happens next

if we keep mistaking

division

for strength

and hatred

for truth.

-a beating heart🌹

truth

“You’re not surprised to see a fish in water, so why are you surprised seeing power-hungry people in power? It is, unfortunately, where they all sit and fester. In government, monarchy, and fame. I hope this message can be meaningful to some of you sensitive souls who have been feeling hopeless with the things now coming to light. I am, of course, not trying to downplay any of the awful acts committed. I am simply aware that this current mass hysteria and hopelessness is exactly what they would want. We are feeding on their ego. Subconsciously, even bad press is good press to someone that craves nothing but power and dominance. A perfect solution would be if we could put people in power that have no desire for power, that is easier said than done and there’s always a risk that someone can become corrupted when they get a taste. Anyhow, I hope you all have a lovely day and keep this in mind when you come across those fear-mongering posts everywhere 🌞🤍”

While this is disapoining to hear about this from the UK. However the sad reality is, neo-liberal governments are just as compromised as right-wing governments. They are not truly left-wing and so many times don’t put it’s peopple first.

A transition from Capitalism is a better deal for human rights and human dignity. Capitalism directly creates classism and separation amongst people. It treats human rignts and equality as comodities, not ethics at all.
